A great coach can transform a sports organization, just like a great business owner can transform a company. Pete Carroll transformed The Seattle Seahawks. 14 years ago, my beloved Seahawks needed a change at head coach but no one expected bringing in a college coach from the hated USC Trojans. Not to mention some of the rumblings of NCAA violations... Pete came in and said this is going to be a players first organization that empowers the players to be themselves in order to get the most out of them on the field. He bucked the trend of conventional player/coach relationships, and it worked. As a business owner, you have to decide what your management strategy is going to be. Are you going to choose a conventional way of management or create your own blended management style? From there, how are you going to evolve that style as industries and people change? I think staying true to your authentic self as a manager is the best way to build rapport and trust with a team, and even clients. Trying to force a different communication style because you've "read" it's the right way to do it can easily come off as disingenuous. If I ever have a run at a company, like the run Pete Carroll had in Seattle, you can sign me up for that right now. Thanks, Pete. #seahawks #linkedinsports #sportsbiz #management
14 years of competition, compassion, and a whole lot of energy. Thank you, Pete Carroll.

This is an understatement in Business Development. Having helped someone land a job through the perseverance of chasing prospects and keeping in touch so that when the need arises, they remember the sender who used to spam them with follow-ups and move those emails to their junk folder 😁 (no pun intended 🤗) is truly rewarding. It’s both fulfilling to see that the efforts have materialized and that someone is able to remove the green tag from their profile and celebrate wins. 👏 🥂 Challenging at the beginning and might get messy in the middle, but the fruit in the end will always be worth it for you, me, and the Client’s organization. 🤝 Let's keep chasing wins, giving up is not an option. 💪 #outsourcing #businessdevelopment #contingentworkforce #staffingindustry #diversity #inclusion #salescycle #bringingthebesttogether #offshore

Best place to celebrate a birthday!! All jokes aside, Kwik Trip seriously is the greatest gas station around! The Kwik Trip mission is to treat others as they would like to be treated and putting the consumer at such a high priority has made the chain thrive to the noteriety it has now. Given the lengthy process and supply chain of getting gas all the way to your local station from the ground of which it came, profit margins on gas are low. So low, that gas station owners can really only make their money from the goods inside the building they sell. “So what makes it so special?” Great question reader, and it is because Kwik Trip has taken out the complex supply chain of its products inside the store and sources a lot of them directly from a Kwik Trip owned kitchen. This doesn’t only make their goods delicious, it makes them extremely affordable too! We eat tasty treats, Kwik Trip still makes it’s money. This can be contained by a tight-knit geographical leash which keeps Kwik Trip mainly in Wisconsin. That turns the focus onto a narrow number of areas within the business such as food quality, cleanliness, and customer service which gave Kwik Trip the #1 spot of gas stations ranked by USA Today. In my 22 years on this Earth, I have never gone into a Kwik Trip and had a negative experience with an employee. That confidence probably comes from child care, healthcare, scholarships, 40% profit sharing, and recognition programs among many other benefits available to their staff. Regardless of what Kwik Trip does or does not do great, there is plenty that we can learn as businesspeople about how putting the consumer first instead of analyzing their consumer habits and manipulating them can really help a company thrive. The welcoming atmosphere at Kwik Trip is no joke and paired with Midwest hospitality it becomes unbeatable, so I get why this guy would want his birthday to be there!
What a great way to celebrate a birthday! Happy Birthday, Cooper. 😊 🎉

Don't know any that there's any 80 year old self in my life and as an 8 year old didn't think about anything but playing - so that's easy - by 80 I'll be lucky to be able to get up and walk around - that alone will be a happy occurrence. So this whole psychobabble post makes no sense - the only thing that will impress your 80 year old self is if your still on the planet. Making yourself 8 or 80 year self proud only works if you're still trying to figure out who you are - and - if you don't know the answer to this question then there's no way to do any of this - Good God these psychobabble posts are multiplying and get goofier every day. By the way there's never anyone I've heard say - "I wish I had made my self more proud?!?!?!of myself - ??? HOW ABOUT THIS Live with integrity - Love with trust and honor - Treat others with compassion -Have some patience and live in the moment as your able. Lastly - Try to leave the planet, and those around you, in better shape than they were when you arrived. TOP FIVE DEATH WISHES: 1) “I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.” 2) “I wish I hadn't worked so hard.” 3) “I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.” 4) “I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.” 5) “I wish I had let myself be happier” I can't think of much else that really matters - this post is a prime example of our goal oriented driven societal construct which has shown itself to fail our culture. Work hard - get ahead - make yourself proud - get going - do it - don't give up - hurry up and make it - you need to be successful - life is about goals and objectives and career choices - do what your told and don't question why - follow the rules - ALL OF WHICH IS BS - ALL OF IT - There's no where to go - there's no where to be - there's no one to be but yourself. BTW I looked up this David Perell, and he's about 12, so what he knows about life? I'm not sure.

In the face of challenges, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and consider giving up. Every setback is a setup for a comeback. 💪 Success isn’t a straight line—it’s filled with twists, turns, and detours. What sets achievers apart is their ability to persevere through the tough times. It’s about finding the strength within to keep pushing forward, even when the odds seem insurmountable. Every failure is a lesson, every obstacle an opportunity to grow. The key is to stay focused on your goals and keep moving, one step at a time. Surround yourself with positivity, keep learning, and never lose sight of your dreams. Your persistence today will pave the way for your success tomorrow. Remember, the only time you truly fail is when you stop trying - so, keep going.

I love this matrix from FW (Future Women). Many of us (myself included, when I'm in my own head) hold ourselves to a different standard than we would other colleagues, expecting perfect outcomes every time. When I make an error, the question I try to ask myself is "will this matter in 20 years' time?". Nine times out of ten it won't. Future Women helped me and many other women by helping us maintain and build connections during and post-Covid isolation and providing so many valuable learning and development opportunities to benefit current and emerging professional women. If you're interested in building your networks, I recommend checking their website. #bekind #futurewomen #connections #womeninleadership #womeninbusiness
We REPEAT, be kinder to yourself ❤️
