At MorningStar Senior Living, we believe that purposeful living is key to a fulfilling life. As Moriah Bernhart, our VP of Life Enrichment, explains: 'We aren't the ones to create a sense of purpose for the residents. Rather, we get to know each person, understand what is meaningful and purposeful in their individual hearts and minds, and then help them connect those priorities with opportunities in the community.' 🔱 The “Financial Revolution” continues in full force and nonstop. During our one-day stop in Houston, we met with the Million Dollar led by @Paola.Naildit. It is both exciting and humbling to see the passion of the leaders and the need in the community for change. Many have realized that what our parents, grandparents, and ancestors have done has not worked, and WE NEED TO CHANGE‼️ The old days of “Trabajo mucho mijito para que te vaya bien ‘O’ cuida tu trabajo,” although well-intended, these old wise tales simply do not work. The basic premise of how money works, how money grows, and how money multiplies are basic principles we all must learn. By identifying, developing, and deploying leaders into our Latino communities, we will ensure that no Latino is left behind in understanding financial literacy, financial planning, and the pathway to financial freedom and wealth creation. Our culture inherently has the hardworking mindset; unfortunately, that mindset is parallel with the scarcity mindset. The “Financial Revolution” is geared to shift the mindset paradigm from working hard to working smarter and from scarcity to abundance. These shifts only take place through education, planning, and by crafting a vision. 📲 Message us to learn more or to apply to join our TEAM.📱☎️💻 GO GO GO 💥🚀💥🚀 #PeterOEstévez #LatinTalks #FinancialRevolution #Hispanic #Latino #MillionDollarTeams #BuildingMillionTeams #JobFair #ApplyNow #JobOpenings #BuildingPartnerships #Collaborations #FinacialLiteracy #FinancialPlanning #FinancialFreedom #WealthCreation

I just got back from Northwestern Mutual's regional meeting. My main takeaways from the 3 day event: 1) The work we do is important. We are in the business of helping people, and it's important to always keep this top of mind. It is our duty to teach, inform, and insist people prioritize these conversations. Most Americans are underinsured. I am 44 years old, and I have already seen too many GoFund pages for friends who have lost spouses, children and parents unexpectedly. I have also seen friends loose jobs and drain all their savings and liquidate assets at the wrong time because they have no guardrails in place. 2) An investment manager is not a planner, and a quarterly statement of investments is not a financial plan. A plan, constitutes of a custom made, holistic analysis of a person's current financial state and projected into the future. It includes a person's goals and priorities and it is a living and breathing document that changes as do our client's lives and circumstances. This is the most important part of the service we provide. It changes peoples lives and psyche. 3) Only 15% of advisors in the US are women, eventhough 51% of the population are women, and over 80% of women say they would rather discuss their finances with other women. We are still underserved and overlooked by our male counterparts. I left the meeting excited and invigorated to continue to empower women, specially Latin women, to take control of their financial lives and future.

Over the last few months I've been starting to think more about how I can blend my landscape background with the work I do with communities, building on the concept of communities as ecosystems. I find that when we can relate what we are are trying to grapple with to nature, it helps us more quickly develop a deeper understanding. At our core we are part of the natural world and most have at least a foundational understanding of how plants and animals grow. I believe theirs real impact in leaning into our understanding of the natural world to to help us explore the challenges we face in our communities. I had the opportunity recently (outside of my current role) to put a small part of this concept to the test with a community organisation who were needing support to reflect on where they were at and think more strategically about their growth. The below sketch broadly shaped the framework of process I took them through. What was incredibly validating about testing this approach was how the more I leveraged the analogy, the more it created an almost instant even playing across the diversity in the room, more than any process I had tried to date. It transcended any skills, knowledge, culture, or experience in the room for a more rich discussion, inviting everyone fully engage into every part of the conversation. The outcome of which was a more holistic, inspiring and motivated energy around the board table than I have experienced in other strategic planning sessions I have facilitated or been a part of to date. I'm looking forward to slowly growing my own tools around this analogy over the next few years for when ready to take the leap out on my own. In the meantime, I'm always keen to hear from those who take an ecosystem approach in our communities to feed each others inspiration.

Thrilled to share that I've embarked on a transformative journey with the Scottish Edge Peer Power Program. Today marked the first of three gatherings of a diverse and vibrant cohort Our day centred around the theme of vulnerability, a concept often shrouded in apprehension, yet today, it served as our bridge to genuine connection. The discussions pushed us to reflect on the pivotal decades of our lives, the passions that fuel our mornings, and the facets of our beings that remain just beneath the surface. Engaging with fellow Edge alumni's on such a profound level was a reminder of the strength found in openness. In our recent conversation, I shared insights into the challenges I've been facing with an autoimmune condition, a reflection of my body's nuanced response to stress. This experience is deeply intertwined with my ongoing journey of managing ADD, presenting a complex landscape of personal health and wellness that I continue to navigate with resilience and determination As we delved into the realms of peer support and the essence of being our true selves, I felt a profound sense of belonging. The road ahead with the Scottish Edge Peer Power Program promises growth, learning, and an exploration of peer dynamics in a space where vulnerability intersects with professionalism. Eagerly anticipating the unfolding of this journey, I am reminded that in vulnerability lies our greatest strength. Here's to a journey of discovery, connection, and empowerment. #ScottishEdge #PeerPowerProgram #ProfessionalGrowth #VulnerabilityIsStrength #NewBeginnings
