What the appearance of a wine can tell you: - Fading and an orange/brown colour at the rim in a red is a sign of age. In contrast a vivid purple suggests it's young. - In whites a deep color may be a sign that it is old or it might be from oak aging. - Grape varieties: some grapes like nebbiolo or cinsault produce pale wines whereas other like malbec have a deep color. The red color comes from the skins. - Climate: riper grapes in both red and white will usually have a deeper color. - Legs show how thick the wines is, usually a sign of high alcohol and/or residual sugar (ie. sweetness). - Bubbles in non-sparkling wine, suggest a very young cool climate wine. #tastingtuesday #bionicbottles #bionic #winemakers #newyork #wine #femaleownedbusiness #koreanownedbusiness #winemakerslife #newyorkcity #newyorklife #newyorknewyork #winelover #drinkwine #winemoments #welovewine #wineinstagram #winesofinstagram

Sugar in wine! 🍭 Or rather — the lack thereof. 🌵 The vast majority of wines are dry, meaning they have no sugar remaining in them after fermentation. There are exceptions (this is wine, after all!) but here are a few tips about sweetness, dryness, and finding a wine to love.🍷 #wine #winelover #instawine #winestagram #vino #winelovers #wineeducation #wineeducator #winetasting #sugar #nosugar #sweetwine #sweetred #portwine #port #drywines
