The American Battle Monuments Foundation has been assigned #77736 for eligible federal employees to donate through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC.)   The Combined Federal Campaign is designed specifically for federal employees and retirees, active-duty military and veterans, federal contractors, and U.S. postal employees. It offers them an opportunity to support non-profit organizations that have met the rigorous standards required of participating charities. Approved charities must be a tax-exempt non-profit in existence for at least five years with financial records filed with the IRS, must be active in at least 20 American states and, for some, (as is the case of ABMF,) have an international presence. Specific information about the organization’s accounting, governance and program functions are disclosed.   Hosted by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the CFC is the world’s largest and most successful workplace giving campaign. Since its inception by President John F. Kennedy in 1961, the CFC program has raised more than $8.7 billion in pledges to local, national, and international charities. It was great to collaborate with industry peers and understand the challenges but also gain feedback on what is such an important subject for so many people across the country. Plus raise so much for a charity that means a lot to my family. Building safety continues to be a ‘hot’ topic but the work we are doing is an opportunity for reflection on how we can incorporate processes into the future projects to get it right first time. A survey commissioned by Airbus Corporate Jets of U.S.-based family offices who own or lease business aircraft reveals that 87% are open to using them for charitable and humanitarian purposes. In terms of how they do this, 77% say they support local or national charities by providing them with some access to their aircraft, and 44% say they support the Corporate Angel Network, a U.S.-based 501 nonprofit organization that helps cancer patients access the best treatment by arranging free travel on corporate aircraft. Some also provide access to their aircraft during a crisis situation such as humanitarian relief or emergency evacuations.
