Community engagement is not a window-dressing, check the box phase. It should be mutually respectful with a duty of care- to do better, to promote community capacity and empowerment in crisis. Siloing engagement across ministries is confusing and disrespectful of the lived experiences in community. Without having meaningful, transparent, comprehensive and timely after action reporting from 2023 defeats the process of engagement for the future.
