On June 23, 2020, we faced an unimaginable loss. Ade Ayodele, a vibrant sports executive, dedicated friend, and cherished member of the Ayodele family, passed away from colon cancer at just 31 years old.
Determined to transform our grief into purpose, we channeled our energy into supporting the the V Foundation's Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund. In 2020 alone, we raised $100,000 to advance the understand the biological basis of cancer disparities. Through Facebook fundraisers, runs, and rides, our community united to prevent others from enduring similar heartache.
These efforts have evolved into our annual Play for Ade golf tournament, celebrating Ade's passion for golf and mentorship. This year's event was especially memorable as my little 2-year-old Ade picked up a club for the first time, swinging in honor of his late uncle.
Yet, our mission is far from complete. Too many young lives, like those of Stuart Scott, Chadwick Boseman, and Virgil Abloh, are cut short by cancer, and we don't know why.
I am proud to announce that we donated another $5,000 this year, thanks to the unwavering support of our attendees, sponsors, and community. That was the seed, but we aim to double (or triple or quadruple) our impact again this year.
Join us in contributing to Ade’s memorial fund with the V Foundation (LINK BELOW), and together, let’s continue the crucial work to end cancer disparities.

At 17 I was diagnosed with lymphoma just before Christmas. At 19 I relapsed and I was given a 5-15% chance of survival. Today, I'm not just a survivor but a husband, a brother, a son, and a father to three incredible boys. This miraculous turn of events was made possible by a clinical trial funded by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). My story has become more common as we've donated to cures over the past 25+ years. Many of you are already part of that story, the story of hope for a child fighting for their life - like I was.
I've been fortunate to participate in the Light the Night walk since its inception in Boston 23 years ago. I'm excited to bring my children back this year for the most inspirational night of the year. I'd love your support as many of you have donated for 20+ years.
Why?
Every 3 Minutes: Someone is diagnosed with blood cancer.
Leading Cause: Leukemia is the leading cause of cancer in children.
Survival Rates: Over 33% of patients don't survive 5 years post-diagnosis.
How You Can Make a Monumental Impact
Donate: Your contribution, no matter the size, amplifies our collective impact. [👉 DONATE BELOW 👈]
Spread Love: If a financial contribution isn't feasible, a heartfelt embrace with your loved ones is another way to spread thankfulness for healthy friends and family.
Your Donation Makes A Tangible Impact
$50: Supports educational booklets for healthcare providers and patients.
$100: Trains volunteers for the Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection Program, offering vital peer support nationwide.
$500: Provides non-medical financial assistance to pediatric, young adult, or clinical trial patients.
Your kindness matters. Every act of compassion, every donation, every word of encouragement adds up. Together, we're not just making a difference; we're making history. We're offering hope and pushing the boundaries of medical progress.
With deep appreciation, I invite you to join me in this fight. Together, let's redefine the trajectory of blood cancer.

In a world where challenges loom large, the power of collective resilience shines brighter than ever. The recent Dolphins Challenge Cancer event is a prime example of this strength, rallying 6,702 individuals to raise an impressive $12 million.
This huge effort beat last year's amount and reached the target of $75 million for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center earlier than expected!
It's incredible to witness such a phenomenal success. It is a testament to the unstoppable spirit of the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium leadership and each participant who turned adversity into victory together.
Their collective resilience has powered a movement that's met one of the most ambitious donation goals in sports history, showing the world what's possible when we unite for a common cause.
"One team. One fight."
The resilience, unity, and strength displayed are truly inspiring. Stephen D. Nimer, M.D., put it well when he said, "Thanks to the unwavering support from the South Florida community and our amazing partnership with the Miami Dolphins, we've been able to achieve so much at Sylvester, pushing the boundaries of cancer research."
When you focus your efforts on a goal, you're bound to succeed. Well done, Miami Dolphins! This event has made a real impact in the fight to save lives.

Best wishes for The New Year - I hope everyone had a joyous break and connected with friends and loved ones.
Our vision at Lung Foundation Australia (LFA) is to champion programs and research so that Australians with lung disease and lung cancer can live their best life. I know that annual reports are not high on everyone's agenda to read but this is a good one :) It captures the story of LFA and our purpose. Working for purpose is what gets me out of bed every morning. Working directly with consumers through our advisory and engagement opportunities keeps us grounded and relevant. The consumer voice needs to remain central to what drives our purpose and I feel very privileged to work with consumers who give so generously of their time to make a difference.
Frustratingly, the challenges and barriers described by consumers has remained consistent over my 30 years of doing this work - not feeling heard, feeling isolated, struggling to navigate the health system, poorly connected and not given the time or resources to be effective partners in their healthcare. We are working to change that and I know that many of you are also working hard to create that change.
For me, I am hoping that 2024 will be less about admiring the problem and more about working on solutions that matter to people and that can create the shift that we are all looking for. It is complex because it requires change at a system, clinical and consumer level; celebrating success is important because it reminds of us of how far we have come and what the recipe for success looks like and it keeps us motivated when it all feels daunting.
I hope you re-engage with your purpose in 2024 and if you want to connect with the work of LFA please let us know.
We are thrilled to share with your our 2023 Impact Report! What a year it's been at Lung Foundation Australia 🌟
Supporting patients and carers to live their best lives!
Providing expert support and guidance!
Driving policy reform in lung health!
Leading lung health professional development for primary care!
Research grants and awards!
Our team did it all with the support of our dedicated community 💚
To those who supported Lung Foundation Australia during 2023, thank you. The funds you allocated to our programs, the personal donations you made, and the hours you contributed to supporting our services had a real and significant impact on the lives of Australians living with lung disease and lung cancer.
Can you help me and my team? The Victory Ride to Cure Cancer is less than a month away. My legs are still not ready, so I think I might have to convince Mujteba Haidri, Scott Long, Pete Deichler, PMP, & joseph gillikin that we should put in a 50 mile training ride this weekend.
That said, I'm ~$300 shy of taking the #2 spot for Top Fundraisers. Our team is currently sitting at #2 already but I'm not sure we can overtake the Biker Chicks. This speaks to the importance of building a bigger team for the 2025 ride since they've got at least 5 more on their team than we do. Since I'm reading Anthony Lee's book, Race for Greatness, I'm reading that he used to put in some strong 60 mile rides on his bike back in the day. Maybe we'll have to recruit him for the 2025 Victory Ride? I'm sure there are others in LinkedIn world who wanna join us too. (Just let me know.)
If you are able to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts, I would be grateful. One hundred percent of your gift goes directly to cancer researchers. Every year, I hear stories about how someone affiliated with the Victory Ride has a family member who benefited from the research that the V-Foundation funds. Every dollar helps. You can make a secure donation at the link in the comments section.

In just a few short weeks I’ve raised $2,300 for LLS with a goal to raise $10,000 before Light The Night on October 26th. While this might seem like just a small piece of the $1.7 billion LLS has invested in cancer research, my goal has the potential to provide an impact in multiple ways.
What we raise in the next few days can make a year-long impact for blood cancer patients struggling with the cost of cancer.
I’d ask that you consider making a donation to support my efforts to raise funds for LLS a donation. Here is how your donation has the potential to make a difference:
$500 helps fund one week of LLS-sponsored group support for families dealing with blood cancer treatment.
$1000 provides financial assistance for non-medical expenses, including rent or mortgage, utilities, dependent care, food, and car repairs, related to treatment to a pediatric or young adult patient through our Urgent Need Program.
$2,500 helps fund the cost of nurses providing patients and parents/caregivers with clinical trial search navigation and support through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Clinical Trial Support Center.
If you are available, please join me on October 26th for the Light the Night Walk!
I would greatly appreciate your support as we lead into the final few weeks before we Light The Night on Saturday, October 26th! You can make a tax-deductible contribution through my link, https://lnkd.in/gVejDsWb.

As many of you know, I have had a lot of titles in life: Director, Manager, Category manager. However, none of them are more important than the titles of Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, and Friend.
One of the titles I also hold is Chair for the West Michigan Light the Night Walk. This cause has been near and dear to my heart for years now, as my little brother fought and lost his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, August 21st of last year.
I encourage anyone who is near to sign up to attend the walk and show your support: https://lnkd.in/g_SwYP5C
For those you wishing to show support in other ways I encourage you to reach out. My fundraising page is below, and I have a personal goal of $5,000 dollars. The dollar amount seems so little compared to what this horrible disease actually cost my family, but I will do whatever it takes to ensure no family has to go through what we have, and I know LLS is just the organization that can do it.
Many of you on my feed are influential in your organizations, and I encourage you to reach out to Madison Morell and find out how you and your organization can get involved. Corporate walk and fundraising teams are incredible ways to help your organizations create a positive lasting impacts on your communities, and with more than 1 out of every 2 people being touched by a cancer diagnosis, you are impacting your teams as well.
Help me reach my personal goal but think bigger and bolder: help US cure cancer.

When I accepted my job at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, I had no connections to blood cancer. I knew my empathy and admiration for the mission of the company would help me be successful in the position. 48 hours after saying yes, I received the news that a family friend's (one that has been around since before I was born) son was diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at only three years old. Suddenly the mission of my company became my personal mission. Cleveland Light the Night is happening on October 6th and I am personally fundraising for it. Any donations to the cause can make a lifetime impact on individuals like Louie (who after a month of chemo is doing great).
Here are a few AMAZING things that LLS can do with funds raised:
-$300 could help fund one week of LLS-sponsored group support for families dealing with blood cancer treatment.
-$500 could help defray the costs of treatment-related travel for a patient.
-$1,000 could help fund general lab supplies for five weeks to help LLS-funded researchers conduct laboratory work needed to develop blood cancer treatments.
-$7,500 could help fund the work of an LLS-funded research fellow for six weeks.
-$10,000 can allow donor direct funding of one of nine disease-specific research portfolios.
If you would like to donate or attend the event please visit my fundraising page: https://lnkd.in/eCDDATw7
For those equally passionate about bringing light to the darkness of cancer, I would love to discuss how you can be a part of next year's Light the Night!
