Do you need a quality control manager(QCM), quality control (QC), or quality assurance (QA) officer? This post is not meant to encourage negligence, laziness, compromise or inability to multi task. I saw an advertisement from a company seeking a QC/QA officer, and the job summary listed responsibilities that combined the roles of a QCM, QC, and QA. Remember, there are differences between these three positions: A quality control manager[QCM] oversees the entire quality control process, develops policies, and manages both quality control and quality assurance efforts to maintain product standards. Quality control officer [QC] focuses on inspecting and testing products to ensure they meet specified standards and quality assurance officer [QA ] involves developing and monitoring processes to ensure consistent quality. I have experienced a situation where I served as a QA officer, QCM, and R&D. It was not easy but I managed the roles well, thank God I did not break down. Stop making the QC job cumbersome so that they can focus on their quality role. While versatility is valuable, expecting someone to handle the responsibilities of three positions and still deliver quality results is unrealistic. If you want to post a job vacancy, please do thorough research to understand the roles before posting. Expecting a QC or QA officer to also take on roles such as research and development [R&D], QCM, marketer, and more with a minimal salary is unfair and impractical. Please, let's do better so we can achieve quality results. For the quality control or quality assurance officers, this post is not an excuse to be lazy and blame your company for making your work tedious. Do not compromise or neglect your duties. To manage a heavy and challenging workload, prioritize your tasks, seek support from your team, and communicate effectively with your superiors about the challenges you face. I hope those concerned see this post and act accordingly. Thank you and do the needful.

When I first transitioned from being a Quality Assurance Officer to a Standards and Quality Assurance Officer, the addition of "Standards" to my title seemed funny to me. I thought, "What’s the big deal about one word?" But after a few days on the job, I’ve realized that this "Standards" part is no joke! In just a short time, I’ve seen how creating and implementing standards, along with defining KPIs, can truly shape the productivity of a team. It’s like building a foundation—once it’s solid, everything else starts falling into place. I’ve also come to appreciate how adhering to standards doesn’t just help a department grow, it’s a catalyst for overall organizational growth. Setting standards has challenged me to refine my benchmarking skills, making me more strategic in identifying gaps and opportunities. I’m grateful for this growth and excited to continue learning in this new role. I’d love to connect and share ideas with others who are passionate about quality, standards, and creating impactful processes. and learn what "standards" mean to you. #QualityAssurance #OrganizationalGrowth #BenchmarkingSkills

Where to find your next Quality manager? 🤷🏻 It's not the first time I hear that companies can’t find a quality manager. And when a candidate presents himself, or herself, the salary 💵 is often not within the budget. Even when you are prepared to pay, another company will have the issue you had: it’s like a chair dance I’m observing 😅. ❓ Is it an option to hire a junior quality person and put an experienced quality consultant next to him/her: I wished I had such a person next to me when I started as a quality manager. Someone who can give unlimited support by email, have monthly video-calls and 2, 4 or 6 days to work with your new quality manager? 💡 I’m the living proof that you don’t need knowledge and experience in a specific process: I managed 26 contract manufacturers, from chocolate to frozen desserts, from canned sausages to olives in glass jars. I'm even helping out a feed company at the moment. 👉🏻 Quality principles are the same across categories and even industries. And when you can’t find someone outside your organisation: why not look inside your company, like an (senior) operator? The benefit is that they know the company, they know the products, they know the processes… Also here I have experience: I recruited an operator in the kitchen to become lab technician, 2 “drop-outs” from school (and one of them became Quality manager in a different company). With the necessary support, much is possible. #qualitymanager #recruitment #support

Title: Quality Control vs Quality Assurance: Understanding the Difference In the pursuit of excellence, two terms are often used interchangeably: Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA). However, they have distinct meanings and roles in ensuring the quality of products or services. Quality Control (QC): - Focuses on identifying and correcting defects or issues in the product or service - Involves inspection, testing, and validation of outputs - Ensures compliance with specifications and standards - Reactive approach: finds and fixes problems after they occur Quality Assurance (QA): - Focuses on preventing defects or issues from occurring in the first place - Involves planning, designing, and implementing processes and procedures - Ensures compliance with regulations, standards, and industry best practices - Proactive approach: anticipates and mitigates potential problems In summary, Quality Control checks for defects, while Quality Assurance prevents them from happening. Both are crucial for delivering high-quality products and services. #FMCG #Foodsafety #QualityControl #QualityAssurance #QualityMatters #ProcessExcellence #Productivity #foodtechnologist #foodtechnology #Copied...!!!
