Today I celebrate WOMEN. The mothers, daughters, children of the planet who, despite playing a fundamental role in global society, are continually, misrepresented, underrepresented, overlooked and abused. Women and girls around the world continue to face disproportionate burdens, gender biases and systemic discrimination, which hinder their autonomy, impede their access to justice and obstruct their fundamental human rights. Globally, we’re still centuries away from gender equality. Investing in women is both an economic imperative and, it is a human rights issue because the global economic and financial systems are complicit in perpetuating gender inequality. This must change. Is there anything better than women supporting women? YES, yes there is; *Everyone* supporting women. But this is a step in the right direction. I'm sharing this proudly as someone incredibly passionate about women's rights and working towards global equity. We can't do it on our own and I LOVE this campaign The UN Women UK have organised. What an honour to be a very small part of it. As a mother of a girl, one of four sisters, a partner of The Young Girls Network and the Founder of a network for women and non-binary people, this is exactly the kind of work that gets me up in the mornings. What is the CSW all about? Founded in 1946. The Commission on the Status of Women, also known as CSW is the biggest global policy-making body dedicated exclusively to promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women. UN Women, supports all aspects of the Commission's work. For over 70 years, the Commission has: 🩵 Led discussions on inequalities and discrimination against women and girls 🩵 Generated public attention on social taboos and broken stereotypes 🩵 Driven action to advance the rights of women and girls everywhere Now, this is an IWD campaign I can get on board with. Excited to attend the training and be a part of the change so desperately needed in this world. #unwomenuk #womensrights #financialeducation #genderequality #togetherforchange #Equity

For this International Women's Day, UN has announced the theme as "Invest in women: Accelerate progress". This is crucial to empower women and take more useful actions to achieve gender equality. Women still face lots of challenges in all aspects of life. I encourage to reflect on how we can use our influence to amplify women's & girls voices. In my story, the best ally is my father. He has always contributed to broaden my vision, helped me gain a wide range of education, always been an outstanding mentor to encourage to dream bigger, speak up, own my decisions and not to give up in case of challenges. We need more allies to create prosperous economies based on gender equality. Let's take a stand to inspire inclusion. #IWD2024 #InvestInWomen

Accelerate Progress. – shines a spotlight on the continuing need for greater economic inclusion for women and girls everywhere. And it has never felt more important.   Yes, progress has been made, however women across the globe continue to face significant obstacles.
