This is a really useful and interesting report. The 'technology drivers' section is (unsurprisingly!) very much focused on Artificial Intelligence, with plenty of links to further resources and guidance. If your nonprofit is wondering where to start with AI, you can also check out Resourcevol's free practical video guide to using AI for good. Part 3 (of 4) is due to be released on 6th March 😊 https://lnkd.in/d9UgvrWh

What's coming up on the horizon? What are the challenges and opportunities facing charities and the voluntary sector as we look ahead? I'd recommend making time to read NCVO's 2024 #RoadAhead Report that provides important insights into the major external trends and issues facing the sector, including opportunities and risks related to technology, politics, the economy and the environment. The operating environment for charities is becoming more complex as we grapple with a multitude of issues that are interconnected on a global, UK, Wales (if you operate in Wales) and voluntary sector specific level. So how do we respond? Some quick reflections from me: 💡 Double down our focus on #innovation and creative solutions. 💡 Understand and learn more about the strategic risks and opportunities of technology like #generativeAI, so our organisations can ethically adopt new solutions to support our future sustainability. 💡 Encourage more #collaboration and sharing between charities and across sectors - together we can achieve more. 💡Make a stronger case for the significant #socialvalue of what charities do through better #data collection, analysis and #impact measurement. 💡Invest in #leadership, equity, diversity and inclusion and people, and contribute more, collectively as a sector towards realising a low carbon future. It's a really challenging time for charity leaders to navigate, including CEOs and #trustees. In this environment it's hard to have the time to plan, think ahead and reflect - but making some space may be one of the best investments you make for your organisation. #timetothink #strategicforesight #strategy

Institute For Voluntary Action Research Open and Trusting Grantmaking - 3 years old !! Being part of this has been fundamental to my personal CPD as a grant maker / funder. Open and Trusting empowers you to incrementally improve practice by giving you structured, evidence based insights into the way you do things. It’s not a quick fix, but a pathway for self analysis and continual improvement. Each step along that pathway helps you examine your power relationships; unpick embedded practice and develop your level of understanding of those you fund. In short - it helps you, over time, become a more human, empathetic and respectful funder.
This Thursday 8 February our Open and Trusting Grant-making initiative turns 3! 😊 🎈 Whether you’re one of our #FlexibleFunders or a charity, we want to hear your answers to these two questions in your posts and in our comments 👇 Find out more about what Open and Trusting it all about: https://lnkd.in/dzufYup
