🎤 Red Sofa interview - Anu Goel from Volkswagen Group of America Anu Goel, executive vice president of group after sales and services at Volkswagen Group of America spoke with our chief content officer Christopher Ludwig at the Finished Vehicle Logistics event in California last month and shared how VW is disrupting the status quo in vehicle logistics, including a new, integrated organisation for managing vehicle logistics across North America, which Anu is leading. New Models In Automotive? A couple of years ago I predicted that the combination of many manufacturers selling direct to consumers, a growth in the number of nearly new used car retailers and the weak demand for used electric cars by private buyers would lead to severe challenges for some retailers. The significant losses sustained by Motorpoint seem to indicate that my prediction is bearing undesired fruit. Retailers need to re-think their strategies and seek to find more differentiated and sustainable propositions. The whole automotive sector – from cars to tyres to servicing - is fundamentally conservative and whilst there have been some good examples of proposition innovation over the years, it is a sector that offers significant opportunities for commercially viable new offerings for those with the courage to see things differently and the bravery to lead. #automotive #marketingstrategy #strategy #proposition
