We’re thrilled to share that The Female Quotient is a finalist in the Shorty Awards for best Branded Series, FQ Trailblazers in History and for our LinkedIn presence 🏆 We believe that change happens through powerful storytelling. Through our “Trailblazers in History” video campaign, we share the stories of “unseen” female change-makers. From historic firsts to pioneering the world’s most innovative concepts, women have made extraordinary contributions to the world as we know it. Yet, so many of these iconic women’s achievements have gone largely unnoticed because they were never documented in history books. For example, Albert Einstein’s first wife, Mileva Marić-Einstein, was a physicist too – and there’s plenty of evidence that her work contributed significantly to his groundbreaking science. They decided to publish under his name because a man's name carried more weight. The purpose of this campaign is simple, but powerful: Make the invisible visible by highlighting forgotten women in history. With a small social team of just a few people (who truly love uncovering the history of trailblazing women) and zero budget, we’ve organically grown this series post by post. FQ community: We'd love your help to vote for our team's creative work through April 30! https://lnkd.in/gjJBmbRe #shortyawards #shortyawardsfinalist #audiencehonor

Has trying to fit in with others in your organization as a woman made you feel like you were compromising your values? Ladies, even as corporate executives and owners of our own businesses, we may still face those type moments. During our “5 Minutes to Victory” VLOG, I addressed that scenario. Statistics show that the value we bring to corporations and boardrooms, in our various industries in the marketplace as women gives us the boldness to realize compromising is not necessary. We can be our authentic selves as women in the marketplace and still win! … Dr. Yvette Rice https://lnkd.in/eseW3b2h

Shonda Rhimes' Playbook - Scripting Success for Black Women Pt 5 - I Didn't Come to Fit In, I Came to Stand Out Listen up, queens! It's time to embrace your uniqueness and reject the pressure to conform. Shonda Rhimes didn't build her empire by playing small, and neither should you. In the world of business, standing out isn't just an option - it's a necessity. Rhimes' unapologetic approach to storytelling has revolutionized television, and we can apply those same principles to our ventures. Here's how you can channel your inner Shonda: 1. Own your voice - Your perspective as a Black woman is your superpower. Use it to create products and services that speak to underserved markets. 2. Challenge the status quo - If your ideas make some people uncomfortable, you're probably on the right track. Innovation happens outside the comfort zone. 3. Lead with conviction - As a leader, your unique approach can inspire teams to think differently and push boundaries. Remember, sis, you're not here to blend in.
