HOW TO MANAGE TIME IN DISPENSING HEALTH CARE AS A NURSE. 1. First, be disciplined enough to complete little domestic tasks outside work space 2. Be punctual to work 3. Draft a nursing care plan and review it or follow through with it 4. Take out or ignore distractions while dispensing health care 5. Approach work based on priority 6. Stay focused at work, be psychologically and mentally present 7. Multitasking on its own is a good skill but could be time wasting and may be counter productive so avoid it while time management in rendering care is concerned. 8. plan your day each day and be mindful to keep to it 9. Take advantage of your time off to plan for another work day 10. Harness all opportunities to rest when provided in order to unwind and stay refreshed #homecarenurse #timemanagement #passionatenursewithexperience

My journey in nursing is a tale of unwavering dedication and resilience. Juggling three jobs, I've come to appreciate the paramount importance of prioritizing my own health while tending to the needs of others. Mastering this daily balance isn't just challenging; it's an ongoing lesson in self-discovery and personal growth. As a nurse, I understand the demands of the profession, yet I recognize that caring for myself is paramount to delivering quality care to my patients. Each day, I strive to maintain this equilibrium, knowing it's a journey worth pursuing. #MentalHealth #NursingLife #ProfessionalReflection #WorkLifeHarmony #CareerReflection #MindfulNursing #HealthCareSupportiveCommunity

In 2022, 54% of the Australian Healthcare workforce were nurses and midwives. They are easily the largest component of the Australian Healthcare system. Through my involvement in healthcare innovation programs, and accelerators, and as a funder, I have noticed that I rarely see them in the healthcare innovation ecosystem. This is something that I believe needs to change. I have been speaking to a variety of nurses & midwives who have companies, who are intrapreneurs, and who are thinking about going into innovation and entrepreneurship, and have asked them why this is the case. For context for the Australian Clinical Entrepreneur Program, only 8% of applicants were nurses or midwives compared to 63% that were doctors. Here are the two most common reasons I have heard as to why we aren't seeing a proportionate amount of nurses and midwives in innovation and entrepreneurship (I would love to hear others opinions here). 1. Professional development and other training opportunities are lacking in the contracts of nurses and midwives. Nurses and midwives receive limited protected time and resources to do anything other than operational clinical duties. If they want to engage in professional development, they need to either be persistent in their ask for PD or they need to do it in their own time with their own dime. 2. Exposure - Plain and simple. It's hard to pursue a career in healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship when you can't see a role model or a pathway to becoming one. There are some awesome nursing innovators and entrepreneurs out there (Nathan Moore FAIDH CHIA, Zara Lord ➔ uPaged, CEO/Founder, and Padraig (Pod) O'Sullivan to name just three). But this is an emerging space and these nurses and midwives have had to fight tooth and nail to become the leaders they are today and create the path for the next generation. I can't fix the first problem. But, I think I can help with the second problem. I want to showcase two amazing nurses and midwives (Nathan Moore FAIDH CHIA and Zara Lord ➔ uPaged, CEO/Founder) to a wide audience of nurses and midwives who are contemplating a role outside of clinical healthcare. If you are a nurse or midwife or know of a nurse or midwife who wants to hear how two amazing clinicians have become innovation leaders, then sign up for this Q+A webinar on the 18th of March at 7 pm EST. Register here: https://lu.ma/nobsc8vt I would also love to speak to any leaders out there who see the lack of involvement of nurses and midwives in innovation as a problem to reach out.

With a plethora of options available, choosing the right one becomes a headache, leaving nurses confused and struggling to streamline their routines. The hassle of deciphering labels adds unnecessary stress to their already demanding workloads. Today marks the end of Nurse's Week. I reposted this article to reinforce my opinion that a corporate focus on workplace nurse survivability will provide a sustainable boost in morale, better employee retention AND improved patient experience scores. It seems as if healthcare entities have tried pretty much everything to better their bottom line except embracing the notion that a significant investment in the wellbeing of the direct contact team members would provide returns that have eluded them... https://lnkd.in/gKTNFEJQ

Trey perfectly sums up the situation with corporate #healthcaresystems and provides the next step(s) they should take to address the likely mass exodus of #nurses from the profession. Should the nurse exodus continue, this will not only have an impact on #healthplans and their #members, but also #propertyandcasualty carriers (particularly #workerscompensation).

As stated in the article... Criteria on the list to review for the update include assessing factors like nurse wellness, retention and recruitment, hospital leadership, diversity, influences on nurse work environments and more. Exciting next steps! Lets see what Magnet 3.0 looks like!
