🤰 Today we celebrate Lexie Gordon, one of our compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurses at Mountain View Hospital! 🤰 With 4 years of experience at Mountain View Hospital, Lexie is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to mothers during one of the most important moments of their lives. Her commitment to creating a safe and comforting environment reflects her passion for ensuring a positive birthing experience for every mother. Lexie's dedication to her role stems from her own experience as a first-time mother, where she was terrified during labor. Her nurse stayed after her shift to deliver with her, building a relationship and rapport through trust and meeting all her needs. This experience inspired Lexie to provide the same level of care and support to her patients. One of Lexie's favorite things about working at Mountain View Hospital is her coworkers and the shared goal to care for patients with nothing less than excellence. The sense of camaraderie and dedication amongst her colleagues makes every day fulfilling. Outside of work, Lexie enjoys spending time with her family in Disneyland and coaching ballroom at the local high school. Her diverse interests and commitment to both her profession and her community make her a valued member of our hospital family. We extend our gratitude to Lexie for her dedication to providing compassionate care and creating a safe space for mothers during labor! 💙🏥 #WeShowUp #CareLikeFamily #RaisetheBar For those wanting to learn more about what to expect in childbirth, postpartum and breastfeeding, click this link to see our available classes: mvhpayson.com/calendar

There are many highs and lows with breastfeeding. I never tandem nursed my babies- this one might have been happier if she was nursing, too- but I have helped many mothers who have. Tandem nursing can be a great way to help comfort the older child, ease the transition to being a big sister, and help keep germs at bay. What are your best tips for working with moms who are tandem nursing?

Any primary care providers, prescribers, and clinical teams: There's still time to join CareOregon's Thursday, June 6th session, Primary Care Sinks its Teeth into Oral Health! Learn why integrating oral health care referrals into your practice’s workflow is just as crucial as integrating SUD and behavioral health. Follow the link to enroll: https://lnkd.in/g8zewPin "How does making a dental referral help our patients?" It can be tempting to think that unless you're a dentist, oral health isn't a pressing concern - similar to how behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment were considered before integration became the norm. The reality is that integrating oral health care referrals into your practice’s workflow can yield substantial benefits in the health of your patients. Small changes can have a big impact at key moments (like childhood or pregnancy) across a patient's life cycle. Oregon Health Plan members also have a comprehensive dental plan with benefits they often aren't aware of that can substantially improve their overall health. Join experts including Legacy Medical Group Midwifery Social Worker and Project Nurture Team Lead Chelsea Barbour, LCSW and Clinical Lead Diana Smith, CNM, MPH; Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Kerrin Swanson, CPNP-PC and Erin Oldenkamp, CPNP-PC from Adventist Health, to discover how quick and easy modern dental referrals can be and how simple integration can make a powerful difference in the lives of the people we care for.
