A career in physical therapy can be highly rewarding but it is not without challenges. Some of the biggest challenges amongst #physicaltherapy professionals include burnout, stress, education costs, and professional growth. So, let’s talk about some of these points. More than 50% of physical therapists report experiencing #burnout. What about you? Have you ever experienced any of these characteristics? ☑ Exhaustion (both physically and emotionally) ☑ Cynicism feeling depressed and/or irritable ☑ Having trouble concentrating, ☑ Difficulty sleeping, ☑ Headaches ☑ Using food, drinks, or drugs to cope ☑ Increased sickness/weakened immune system The best way to overcome burnout is to take regular breaks. Do you feel like that’s possible? What can leaders do to help make this a reality? Now, let’s talk about #stress. When clinicians are stressed, it impacts the quality of care they deliver. Stress can come from various sources but a few specific ones can include a heavy workload, documentation, and poor management. Physical therapists are legally allowed to see 3 patients every hour in Maryland, and many clinics take advantage of this. At Forever Fit, we see fewer than 2 patients an hour on average, which allows our physical therapists to provide high-quality care. We utilize one of the best and most efficient EMR programs available in the market to decrease documentation time so you can leave work at work! What would help reduce your stress? The #education necessary to practice physical therapy is costly, leaving many with debt. As healthcare and technology continue to evolve, education is ongoing. At Forever Fit Physical Therapy & Wellness LLc, we invest in your growth and development to assure both the therapist and patient have the best experience possible. Do you feel supported in your education journey? How can we help? After all the initial years to obtain the necessary degrees and certifications and finally gain years of experience, one might wonder what's next. It’s difficult to advance alone. A supportive network makes a world of difference. With that mission in mind, we have created a partnership track that allows dedicated physical therapists to join our leadership team as partners in new clinics. As a physical therapist, you have challenges. As a leader in the space, I want to know what I can do to help alleviate some of those challenges. Answer the question in the comments: What has been a challenge for you as a physical therapist?

Enhancing Your Practice: Specialty Groups, Space Utilization, and Contracting Opportunities In allied health, the tradition of communal therapy through specialized groups has long been recognized for its profound impact on client well-being. Drawing on this model, consider diversifying your practice's services by introducing specialty groups tailored to your discipline. From music therapy singing groups to audiology aural rehab sessions, these gatherings provide therapeutic benefits and foster a sense of community among clients. Moreover, effective utilization of your practice's physical space presents a unique opportunity for growth and collaboration. If you have extra room, think about subleasing it to professionals in complementary disciplines. This maximizes the use of your space and creates a multidisciplinary wellness center that offers holistic care under one roof. The key is to ensure any new specialty or professional added to your space aligns with your practice's values and enhances the services provided. Additionally, expanding your practice's reach beyond your immediate clientele can significantly impact both financial growth and community support. Contracting with local schools, early intervention programs, or other practices opens up new avenues to extend your services, especially to those who might lack access to specialized care. Such partnerships allow you to contribute meaningfully to the community while broadening your practice's influence. Embracing these strategies—specialty groups, strategic space utilization, and contracting—can transform your practice, offering both your clients and your business unparalleled benefits. Each step towards diversification enriches the services you offer and reinforces your commitment to providing comprehensive care. As you venture into these new realms, remember the importance of aligning with your core values and the logistics of such expansions to ensure a seamless integration into your existing practice. #layerscommunity #slp #slpeeps #speechpathology #speechpathologist #slpsofcolor #speechtherapy #ashaigers #SLPEntrepreneur #occupationaltherapy #occupationaltherapist #OTEntrepreneur #alliedhealthprofessionals #alliedhealthcare #alliedhealth #audiology #audiologist #physicaltherapy #physicaltherapist #choosept #PTEntrepreneur #nutritionist #dietician #mentalhealthprofessionals #massagetherapist #musictherapist #telepractice #telehealth #privatepractice #privatepracticegrowth #healthcareentrepreneur #multipleincomestreams

If your answer to how you're supporting therapists is to list your tech stack, you're gonna have a hard time. Everyone's got tech. Therapists want to know: -Are you listening to their concerns? -Are you prioritizing their clients' outcomes? -Are you paying them what they're worth? -Are you behaving ethically? -Are you giving them space to provide quality care and take care of themselves? Tech is cool, but it's not really a game changer in therapy yet. At best, tech can help with 20% of the hard stuff that comes with being a therapist. The other 80% can't be fixed - so give therapists the support, understanding, and money the hard work calls for. #mentalhealth #therapy #recruitment

📢 Hey everyone! Let's address something that's been on my mind lately: the misconception that some physical therapists don't push their patients hard enough. 👩⚕️ As highly trained medical professionals, physical therapists have a deep understanding of their patients' irritability, capabilities, and unique circumstances. However, it is true that a small percentage of physical therapists may fall short in their duty to push their patients towards progress. 💪 It's essential to acknowledge that pushing ourselves can be uncomfortable and challenging, but it's often necessary to achieve our goals. PTs are there to guide us and ensure we make steady progress in our recovery or performance enhancement journey. 🏋️♀️ When physical therapists understand their patients' irritability levels, they can adjust exercise programs accordingly. Pushing a little beyond our comfort zone is often essential for progression and improvement, while still prioritizing safety and preventing injuries. 🔑 Unfortunately, many physical therapist don’t push their patients hard enough, it can hinder their potential progress and hinder achieving optimal results. It's crucial for PTs to strike a balance in pushing patients to their limits without overexerting or disregarding their limitations. 🙌 Let's appreciate the majority of physical therapists who do an incredible job of pushing their patients towards growth and success. They play a significant role in helping us overcome obstacles and reach new heights.#PushForProgress #PTsSupportingGrowth #PickPT #LiveLifeMoving Pick PT Physical Therapy

Physical Therapists: Healing through Presence Physical therapy is not just a matter of clinical expertise; it is profoundly influenced by the therapeutic presence of the practitioner. The connection between a physical therapist and their patient is crucial in fostering an environment conducive to healing and recovery. Here’s how physical therapists harness the power of presence to enhance the healing process: 1. Empathetic Engagement: Physical therapists excel in creating a space where patients feel seen, heard, and understood. This starts with genuine empathy, recognizing the challenges patients face and responding with compassion. Empathy builds trust and motivates patients, which is essential for the rehabilitation process. 2. Mindful Communication: Effective communication is key. Physical therapists use clear, encouraging language to explain treatments and progress. They ensure that patients understand the purpose of each exercise and the expected outcomes, which helps patients engage more actively in their recovery. 3. Calm Confidence: Patients often arrive with pain and uncertainty. A physical therapist’s calm and confident demeanor can reassure patients, instilling a sense of hope and security. This confidence is contagious, helping patients believe in their ability to recover and progress. 4. Intentional Touch: In physical therapy, touch is a tool for both assessment and treatment. The way a therapist applies touch can convey a great deal of support and care. Intentional, mindful touch reinforces therapeutic presence, making patients feel cared for and safe. 5. Adaptive Techniques: Each patient is unique, and physical therapists adapt their approach to meet individual needs. This adaptive skill shows that therapists are fully present and attentive to the specific conditions and responses of their patients, which is pivotal in crafting effective, personalized treatment plans. 6. Consistent Follow-Up: Presence extends beyond the therapy sessions. Physical therapists often provide continued support through follow-up calls and messages, checking on patients’ progress and offering additional guidance. This ongoing engagement is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and recovery journey. The role of presence in physical therapy cannot be overstated. It transforms routine interactions into powerful connections that support healing and recovery. As we continue to recognize and celebrate the profound impact of physical therapists, let us not forget the subtle yet significant role of presence in paving the path to wellness. #PhysicalTherapy #PatientCare #Healthcare #Rehabilitation #TherapeuticPresence
