#PrideMonth has marked an excellent time for me to personally reflect on the actions I can take each day to foster an inclusive and supportive environment on my teams and with my clients. This article featuring ten of my colleagues is a helpful guide.

This month, we stand proud and united to commemorate Pride Month, a celebration of love, diversity, acceptance, and self-expression. This is not just a time to acknowledge the struggles and victories of the LGBTQ+ community but also to reflect on the importance of creating a more inclusive and empathetic society. As we celebrate Pride, let us also remember the importance of allyship. Being an ally means supporting and standing up for the rights of those who identify as LGBTQ+. It means creating safe spaces at work and in our communities where everyone can be their authentic selves. It requires constant learning, understanding, and committing to equality and justice. This Pride month—and all year round—let's strive to spread love, promote inclusivity, and uplift each other. Because when one of us succeeds, we all do. Pride Month reminds us of the beauty of diversity. Pride is not just a month—it's a lifelong commitment to equality and justice for all. Pride is more than a celebration; it's a call to action. RiSE up for PRIDE Every year, companies across the world show up in recognition of Pride. But the reality is that our LGBTQ+ community expect more than a once-a-year acknowledgement. They want to drive real change, where change is needed, and where better to start than the workplace. UCLA research states that 1 in 3 LGBT employees have left a job due to a lack of LGBT inclusion in their workplace. At RES, the work of RiSE has impacted our colleagues, networks, regions and businesses, and through their committed efforts RiSE have driven change and powered progress internally. When your personal values are aligned with those of your employer. It’s a match. Im happy that here in DHL Supply Chain we are clear about our approach towards LGBTQ+ communities. We promote the topics. We educate ourselves to be able to be inclusive, to make this company a better place for all of us. And to be able to provide our support. Empathy and respect are not a measurable KPI (although I am sure there are links to be measured), but they are key in shaping the culture.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are a key strategy in providing support for marginalized communities in your organization. You can't solve the world's pressing challenges without an inclusive culture. For more than 25 years, our Pride@BCG network has championed the voices of LGBTQ+ employees and alumni. There’s a misconception that allyship is primarily about supporting a specific subset of individuals, such as LGBTQ+ people. Here’s what’s true: inclusion is for everyone.
