Huge shoutout to Everett Potter at Forbes for featuring our Norway Natural Wonders trip as a top Nordic adventure to consider this summer! ☀️🎉 "MT Sobek has chosen the best of Norway on a journey that pairs a cruise through deep fjords with hikes up dramatic mountains. It’s all about exploring national parks and discovering cosmopolitan Oslo and the gorgeous port city of Bergen. The trip includes time in UNESCO-protected Geirangerfjord as well as the memorable landscapes of the Lofoten Islands. This is an adventure based on waterfalls, Viking lore, and hikes on some of the world’s most scenic trails. One may call Norway "the land of the fjords" deservedly. This Scandinavian country has undoubtedly been blessed with fabulous nature, which is the reason why so many travelers come to Norway every year. There are over 1,700 fjords in this country, but which are the ones you shouldn't miss? Let's find out 😉 Nærøyfjord. Having inspired Disney's Frozen and being listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list, this is one of the most impressive attractions in Norway. The National Geographic Society ranked this fjord (together with Geirangerfjord) the world's number one natural heritage site. Besides, the famous "Norway in a nutshell" trip includes a cruise across this stunning fjord. Geirangerfjord. Another UNESCO-listed fjord in this list. Geiranger, nestled between towering mountains with snowy peaks, offers dramatic views and an unforgettable experience. And two farms, Knivsflå and Skageflå, that are located at an altitude of a few hundred meters will absolutely blow your mind! Lysefjord. It's not just about this "fjord of light" (it is the literal translation) that is worth seeing. You shouldn't miss out on hiking to the famous Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock), which offers breathtaking views over this light-blue fjord. Hardangerfjord. This picturesque fjord is also nestled between the mountains. But one hike is definitely worth your attention: you can hike to Trolltunga and get a stunning photo on the cliff over this fjord. The hike isn't easy, but the rewards are very well worth it. 😊 And which fjords have you had a chance to see? 😊 Share your experience with us in the comments below! 😎 #norway #nature #norwaynature #naturelovers #naturetherapy #fjords #naturesbeauty #scandinavia #travelnow #traveltheworld #traveleurope #travelgram #traveltips #traveladvisor #traveladdict #traveldestination

Considering a trip to South America? ⛰ Then like most travellers, the famous “Inca Trail Trek” to Machu Picchu is on your mind. It's the #1 bucket-list experience in Peru: so to combat overtourism and preserve the trail, only 500 permits are available per day (for 200 tourists and 300 porters). Unsurprisingly, permits sell out fast and the narrow trails are made even more challenging when packed with other trekkers. But did you know there’s another way? Intrepid offer an alternative trek on the Quarry Trail. It’s a lesser-known and hidden gem, as past-trekkers will confirm it's one the most beautiful walks in South America. It sees a fraction of the crowds on the Inca, the distance is shorter at only 26km, and the many villages benefit from our travellers’ visits. It's the path less travelled to Machu Picchu, yet still a ‘Good Trip’ in so many ways. So pack those hiking boots, and trek over to our website to learn all about the 'Quiet Quarry:' https://lnkd.in/gQ86FZ4E
