According to the latest report, tax payments made to HMRC through the Pay by Bank platform increased by 38.9% in January 2024 when compared to January 2023. Over 1 million customers used the platform to make £3.3 billion in tax payments. This secure and faster payment method is made possible through Open Banking technology. Additionally, the use of Open Banking data has led to improved accuracy and inclusivity in credit scoring. This has resulted in faster credit decisions, increased access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and overall economic empowerment.
