With safety month over, we want to take a moment to highlight an accomplishment of the Safety Culture Reset initiative. MTM has installed reminders for our team members to read daily as they enter our facility. To pay respect to our parent companies, we have modeled our new safety gates after the traditional Torii Gate, a gate symbolizing a transition point in Japanese culture. We hope team members see these gates as a reminder to always maintain a Safety-First mindset as they pass through them. Even though we focused on safety last month, it is a year-round priority for our team members!

With Safety Week just around the corner, I'm excited to share what it means to me and my reflections from an immensely engaging and memorable experience I had a few years back. This experience had a lasting impact on me and in today's Gemba principles being applied within Greif's operations team. Safety stands as our core value at Greif, and Gemba remains pivotal in ensuring it remains at the forefront of our operations. Reflecting on that experience, where I had the privilege to join the production team on the shop floor as part of autonomous maintenance schedules, I recognise the profound impact it had on shaping my understanding and approach to safety and continuous improvement. Engaging in these schedules and mastering SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) were just the beginning of this transformative journey. 🚀🔧📋 Immersing myself in the production environment and essence of Gemba – the philosophy of being on the ground, where the action happens – fostered a sense of belonging and ignited team spirit and teamwork. It was about feeling fully integrated into the operations team, contributing expertise, and absorbing the collective wisdom and unity of the group. 🤝👩🔧👨🔧 The appreciation for each colleague's role and contribution was evident, fostering a culture of mutual respect and support. Moreover, my heightened awareness of LOTOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out Try-Out) procedures through practical application emphasised the critical importance of safety protocols in any operational environment. ⚠️🛑 As we approach Safety Week, let's embrace the spirit of Gemba and commit to prioritising safety and continuous improvement in all aspects of our work. Together, we can further solidify Greif's commitment to safety and success. Here's to an inspiring and fruitful Safety Week ahead! 🚀🔧👷♂️ #SafetyWeek #Gemba #ContinuousImprovement #Teamwork #SafetyFirst #GreifUK

🛠️ Ensuring Industrial Safety: Key Tips for Using Tools at Work 🛠️ Industrial safety is paramount in the workplace, especially when handling tools. Here are some essential tips to promote a safe working environment: 1️⃣ Always prioritize wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, safety goggles, and ear protection for tool operation. 2️⃣ Regularly inspect tools before use to check for any damage or wear and promptly replace any faulty equipment. 3️⃣ Adhere to the manufacturer's guidelines for using tools correctly and only use them for their designated purposes. 4️⃣ Maintain clean and organized work areas to prevent accidents and ensure easy access to tools. 5️⃣ Stay focused on the task at hand and avoid distractions while working with tools to prevent potential mishaps. 6️⃣ Remember never to carry tools by their cords or hoses and always disconnect them after use. 7️⃣ Prioritize safety with power tools by unplugging them before making any adjustments or changing accessories. 8️⃣ Use proper lifting techniques when handling heavy tools to prevent strains and injuries. 9️⃣ Stay vigilant of your surroundings and colleagues while using tools to avoid accidents. 10️⃣ Report any unsafe conditions or incidents involving tools promptly to your supervisor for immediate action. By following these guidelines, we can create a safer work environment and reduce the risk of accidents. Let's prioritize industrial safety together! #IndustrialSafety #WorkplaceSafety #ToolSafety

How do we know that QUALITY CULTURE is PENETRATING in any organisation? Do we have anything MEASURABLE to check quality culture !!!
