How do you balance your business with home life AND still make sure to fill your cup? As with many people who choose to start their own business, when I set up Mustard HR I was striving for a better balance. It hasn't always worked out that way but I am getting better with boundaries. With January always being a bit of an uphill struggle, I've decided to do my best to take a day off per week. Last week was the first full week after the Christmas break with the kids back to normal, so taking advantage of that, I did manage to achieve some time out 😊 I spent a lovely morning with my best mates, taking a bracing walk, a little shopping and a fish and chips lunch at one of my favourite spots (can you guess where from the photo)? It certainly blew the cobwebs away and made me realise that when work and life feel a bit too serious, a laugh with those who know you best is soooo good for to soul (especially when at the coast 😁). I'm hoping to hold myself accountable and keep this up throughout 2024 - any tips? #flexibleworking #hrconsultancy #selfemployment #smallbusiness #norfolkbusiness #suffolkbusiness #rnr #worklifebalance

Why heart matters at work ❤️ Our experiences at work are a culmination of what our head thinks and what our hearts feel. Its easy to focus on the tangible aspects of work: - Salaries - Job descriptions - Physical work environments - Systems - Work hours But work is more than that! A persons experience at work, is heavily influenced by how we make them ‘feel’ 💚 - Do they feel valued? - Do they feel safe? - Do they feel that they belong? - Do they feel a sense of connection to the organisational purpose? How we experience and what we remember about a workplace comes from what our head 🧠 tells us and our heart ❤️ feels.
