After speaking with nearly 100 firms during my recent portfolio operations compensation study, one thing remains clear: while the basics of carry are consistent, the specifics vary widely from firm to firm. In #Lithuania about 40% of companies are family businesses and a big majority (probably over 70%) of them are still in the hands of the first generation. Situation in #Latvia and #Estonia is quite similar. If we manage to develop governance and succession planning in the Baltic family businesses, this will have a big positive impact on resilience and growth of the Baltic economies🇱🇹🇱🇻🇪🇪🚀 At Baltic Family Firm Institute’s annual conference my colleague Jurgita Karvelė and I spoke about the trends with family governance in Baltics and how to avoid disputes in family businesses.
