Interesting facts and figures The oldest frame house was built back in the 13th century and has been perfectly preserved to this day. As for our days, today more than 70% of the population of developed countries prefer panel-frame constructions. Most of them are in Sweden, USA and Scotland, where almost 90% of low-rise construction projects are built using the frame technology. In 2012, more than 50,000 panel-frame houses and cottages were built in the UK. At the same time, the share of prefabricated houses is growing exponentially. You can admire the architecture of frame construction by going along the tourist route of Deutsche Facherstrasse. The street, built up with panel-frame houses, stretches along the 2000 kilometer long highway!

D E S I G N F O R A L L is a vital part of current and future construction or renovation projects! Facilities that are subject to law must be designed accordingly to ensure accessibility for all people. As this is a complex area, it is important for building professionals, private individuals and local authorities to be informed and instructed accordingly. BELVEDERE Architecture has already undergone the training (adapth.lu - official partner of the OAI) and is working with this newly acquired expertise on several projects. We are authorised to act as a technical inspector for accessibility in accordance with the conditions of Article 9 of the law of 7 January 2022 on the accessibility of public places, public roads and apartment buildings. #designforall #accessibilité #accessibility #barrierefrei #Konformität #conformity #conformité #architecture #construction #renovation #luxembourg

We know just how quickly progress is being made on site, but it's always satisfying to see it in the blink of an eye. 👀 Our Evercam - Construction Visibility shots from March last year, compared to just last week show how far teams have come in little over twelve months. 🏗 Both buildings have shot up. 🏗 The bridge was installed last November - connecting both buildings seamlessly. 🏗 The facade is almost complete - around 1,000 intricately designed aluminium and glass panels have already been fitted to the exterior of The Forum, each weighing about 500kg. Teams are now installing cappings, final technical interfaces and doors. Keep an eye out on site and across our socials for more updates. Kier Construction | Gloucester City Council

Meet Richard Rogers, A brilliant British architect who loves making buildings that are good for the Earth. He's like a superhero for the environment! Imagine the coolest buildings you've ever seen – chances are, he's behind some of them, like the fancy Lloyd’s Building in London and the artsy Pompidou Centre in Paris. Now, let's talk about the construction industry. It's like a big team of superheroes who build amazing stuff. Kids, imagine you're playing with blocks, but these guys play with real-life buildings! These builders, like Richard Rogers, have done some incredible things. When you learn about these awesome builders, it's not just about buildings – it's about breaking down walls and being fair to everyone. So, if you ever dream of building the coolest things and helping the Earth, these construction heroes are the ones to look up to!

I must admit a liking for stolid, somewhat Presbyterian, modern architecture. I am thinking of the type of buildings that present a somewhat dour countenance to the world, as if to say, that with the simplest of ingredients, say fired clay and coagulated mud, that this is all I can offer to you, and moreover, this is all you have a right to expect. I guess therefore I am musing on a sense of humility I desire to see, that recognises the central part buildings and architecture play within the human story, but also their inevitable scenographic role too, as mere background to life. It’s a rare case I think that one can point to the design of a building changing anyone’s life, apart from those who chose to become architects of course. But generally, I hope you would agree, that the formidable power of the art of architecture, is in creating a continuous frieze of form, that we play, like unwilling actors in our own life, against. Calls to admonish the banality of most architecture are therefore misplaced and ill thought through I think unless one’s interest is principally in baubles. It is with such thoughts in mind that I recently visited Witherford Watson Mann architects, Almshouse building in Southwark, London, that seems to coalesce such thoughts within its very maw.
