Nearly two-thirds of Americans consume mushrooms, counting fresh mushrooms bought in the produce department, mushrooms included in restaurant meals as well as mushrooms used as an ingredient in frozen pizzas or a jar of spaghetti sauce. The vast majority of mushrooms eating occasions, 80%, reflect usage as an addition, topping or ingredient to another base dish, such as pizza, a burger or salad. Consumers say that 95% of these occasions had mushrooms included in the original meal, whether bought in-store or at a restaurant, whereas 5% added mushrooms to the meal leftovers. Mushrooms have great versatility and add umami – a savory, meaty flavor – adding depth and richness to all kinds of dishes, ranging from soups and sauces to stir-fries and salads. When it comes to building the perfect pizza, you need to start with a strong foundation. This means selecting a delicious and crispy pizza base, and pairing it with the right sauce. While a traditional tomato sauce is always a great choice, have you thought about trying something a little less conventional on your menu? Something we’re loving at the moment is seeing restaurants and pizza shops adapt soups and other non-pizza sauces for their pizza menu. This might be a fresh basil pesto or a light bechamel sauce. It could even be a thick pumpkin soup or a French onion-inspired sauce. The options are endless. So, what do you think? Would you give soup or a non-pizza sauce a try on your pizza menu? buvetti.com.au #buvetti #pizza #pizzashop #pizzashopowner #pizzabase #sauce #pizzasauce #tomato #bechamel #pumpkinsoup #frenchonion #restaurant #foodservice #foodserviceindustry #menuinnovation #pesto

One of the world’s most sauce-covered dishes is, without a doubt, the hamburger! 🍔 Whether it’s the classic American-style burger or a gourmet version, burgers are always paired with a variety of sauces: ketchup, mayo, barbecue sauce, ranch, mustard, hot sauce… The list goes on! According to data from the National Restaurant Association, approximately 50 billion burgers are consumed annually in the U.S. alone, and a whopping 95% of them are served with multiple sauces. So, sauces not only enhance the flavor but also shape the identity of the burger itself. And it’s not just in the U.S.—the love for burgers and sauces is a global phenomenon. In fact, research by GlobalData shows that the demand for sauces in the European fast food market is growing by 7% each year, with ketchup and mayonnaise being the most popular choices. With so many options, finding the “perfect” sauce combo for your burger has become almost an art! #faida #hamburger #fastfoods #americanburger #sauce

The Secret Behind Your Favorite Fast Food: It's All About the Sauce! Have you ever wondered what keeps you coming back to your favorite quick-service restaurant (QSR) or local takeaway spot? I've noticed one interesting trend really take off in QSRs recently... The rise of sauces. People LOVE their sauces—in fact, recent data from Technomic’s Flavor Consumer Trend Report showed that 34% of consumers even consider available sauces when deciding on a restaurant. And QSRs are absolutely capitalizing on this. In just the past few months, we've seen: 🥣 Taco Bell's new "Avocado Verde" sauce for its Cantina Chicken menu. 🥣 Zaxby's new "Zaxtail Sauce" to complement their new Southern Fried Shrimp. 🥣 McDonald's new "Savory Chili WcDonald’s Sauce" to go along with their anime-inspired WcDonald’s campaign. And there are countless more! Customers want experimental, novel sauces nowadays. QSRs are delivering, and it's greatly increasing competition. #RestaurantTrends #QSRs #Restaurants

I've been caught sleeping. I totally missed the Waitrose & Partners x Ottolenghi Group launch and apparently the products (spice mixes, pasta sauces and marinades) have been flying off the shelves. Full disclosure: - I have never eaten at an Ottolenghi restaurant or deli - I don't have an Ottolenghi cookbook, nor have I have cooked an Ottolenghi recipe (although I have been the lucky dinner party guest when foodie friends have created Ottolenghi dishes and I have also sampled some takeaway cakes - all delicious) - I know that Yotem Ottolenghi did not personally make the contents of these jars However....I now feel the need to go immediately to Waitrose and purchase a number of these items for my kitchen. ⭐ This is the sign of a GREAT brand extension; it makes perfect sense. ⭐ (Also now waiting for Ottolenghi chilled meals, sauces and dressings, cakes, tea and bottled drinks to arrive. I am sure there must be plans.) #brandextension #brandlicensing #intellectualproperty Stobbs
