Happy International Womens Day! Women have been making strides in the equestrian industry for decades, and their presence and influence have only continued to grow. In an industry where women and men compete on equal terms, female equestrians have demonstrated their talents and strengths time and time again. Women have succeeded in all aspects of the equestrian world, from top riders to industry leaders. They have broken down barriers and shattered glass ceilings, proving they are just as capable as their male counterparts. They have become role models for aspiring female equestrians, showing them that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. The equestrian industry is a prime example of how women can thrive in a male-dominated field. Through their powerful and empowered roles, female equestrians have shown that gender should not hinder success. Instead, it should be an opportunity to showcase their abilities and make a difference in the world. Did you know that 0.1% of the world has completed a marathon? And more than 600,000 people completed an ultramarathon in 2018. But that’s still only 0.00008% of people who have completed an ultramarathon. 23% of participants are female, compared to just 14% 23 years ago. But that’s still only 0.00002% of people who have completed an ultra and are female. Even though the percentage of women in ultra running is still small, it has never been higher. So if you are struggling remember — if it was easy everyone would be doing ultramarathons. Keep going. I've been really enjoying a new series that MUSTO launched, a groundbreaking documentary series called Evening the Keel, dedicated to celebrating and elevating the voices of women in sailing. It's a four-part series, which premiered on 17 May 17, featuring some of the world's most renowned female sailors who share their insights and experiences in a sport that remains predominantly male. Produced by Musto in collaboration with World Sailing, the series dives deep into essential themes like diversity within teams, balancing an offshore sailing career with motherhood, and the ongoing opportunities for change in the sport. Tracy Edwards MBE, BSc, an amazing heroine of mine, who led the first all-female crew in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race, joins the series as both presenter and participant. Tracy and other remarkable sailors, such as Sam Davies, Clarisse Crémer, Justine Mettraux, and Francesca Clapcich, offer a candid look at their journeys and the challenges they have faced over the years. As someone passionate about sailing and leadership, I find this series brilliant. It highlighths the importance of diverse teams and the critical role of leadership and culture in fostering an inclusive environment. Just as these sailors push the boundaries on the water, we must strive to create workplaces where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive and contribute to their fullest potential. The Evening the Keel series is being broadcast globally through the World Sailing Show and on Musto's digital channels. The last episode will be released on 7th June. They're short films and give an eye-opening experience into the world of sailing and the challenges and wins some of the great women in this sport have had. May I introduce Alicia and her diary "Real Live". Why did I create this figure? Because communication on the subject of golfers first and foremost concerns golfers in their daily lives.  Yes, I decided in favour of a female golfer. Why: Because, at least according to German studies, women are more interested in the subject of sustainability than men, and because I admittedly have more experience with women in golf than with men. But don't worry, I'm sure Alicia will also find space for male golfers and their sustainability projects in her diary. 😁 #golf #sports #sustainability
