The beverage industry needs to do better when it comes to packaging. Transitioning from plastic to paper isn't the solution as it merely shifts the problem rather than solving it. The good news is, there are more sustainable alternatives out there waiting to be embraced! Watch our new video to learn how! #Sustainability #PackagingSolutions #BeerPackaging #BeveragePackaging #Beer #RTD
Every celebration starts with a “cheers!” 🍻🥂✨ But the packaging that beverage comes in may have a hidden impact on the world’s vital forests. Let’s rewind just after that BYOB invitation. It’s time to rethink our choices. Imagine packaging crafted from things we waste like agricultural residues rather than forests. Together we can, turn yesterday’s trash into tomorrow’s solutions. Let’s quench our thirst for change and make sustainability the main event, so your next celebration is a celebration for everyone (and everything!) Last Thursday, we hosted our Value of the Footprint Small & Medium Members gathering at The Gipsy Hill Brewing Co - one of our committed innovative members leading the way in sustainability. Attendees were treated to pizza and one of Gipsy Hill's exceptional carbon-negative brews. These are made with regenerative agriculture barley and 100% recaptured and reused hops. They're fully tracked through their life cycle, and achieved without carbon offsets. We also had the pleasure of touring the brewery, guided by Gipsy Hill’s Managing Director and Co-founder, Sam McMeekin. The event focused on Scope 3 emissions—those upstream and downstream emissions from when companies buy or dispose of products. Although challenging to measure and reduce, addressing Scope 3 emissions is essential for the hospitality sector’s path to net zero. Our members openly discussed their obstacles and received practical guidance on tackling these complex emissions. Whether you're just starting your sustainability journey or are already pushing the boundaries like Gipsy Hill, we’re here to help. Reach out to learn how we can support your business in reducing its carbon footprint. You know the concept where you’re drawn to something you already like? That once you notice a word, you see it everywhere. There’s a name for this – but I can’t remember what it is! Anyway. Sustainability. That’s my vibe, so when I’m looking at an entire aisle of wine, what jumps out? The bottle of ‘SUSTAINABLY CRAFTED’ wine. Interest peaked; I check out the label. No further information. Intriguing! How is this wine sustainable? On the Spy Wine website and hidden away in the footer I find their ‘Sustainability’ page. And wow, what a great company! They’re accredited under the NZ Sustainable Winegrowing Scheme (as is 96% of NZ’s vineyard producing area apparently!), but they also have dedicated some of their land for native trees and animals and are producing 20% of their electricity using Solar Panels. They’ve partnered up with a wildlife charity, and are using lighter-weight bottles, and offset, to minimise their carbon footprint. They use some organic matter in their vineyard… Now I see, there’s too much info, and it’s too nuanced, to put on a wine bottle label… but I also think the message is positive enough to warrant a prominent place on the website. I love seeing Sustainability being used as a selling point, but is it just me who’s geeking out on the details? #WildTreeDigital #Sustainability #ClimateAction #GoGreen #DigitalSustainability #WebsiteDevelopment #WebDesign

At SAGE Sustainability, we are immensely proud to spotlight our visionary client, Ginglani Distillers, led by founder and CEO Shivam Ginglani. Right from their early days, Ginglani Distillers/ Woodsmen Mountain Whiskey have prioritized sustainability, implementing a strategic blueprint that guides their critical decisions as they grow. Their commitment to managing water and waste, reducing emissions, fostering employee wellbeing, and promoting responsible consumption truly sets them apart as a burgeoning leader in the distillery industry. A heartfelt thank you to Shivam for acknowledging our partnership. We are excited to continue co-creating significant, measurable impacts that serve as benchmarks within the industry. We are particularly inspired by Shivam's leadership and his team's dedication to sustainability. Their example is a powerful call to action for other young companies: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫. It is crucial to embed sustainable practices from the beginning, rather than waiting until you are larger. Ginglani Distillers exemplifies how early action can shape a business's ethos and operations for the better, paving the way for a sustainable future. Together, let’s redefine industry standards and lead a #CarbonPositive future. #Sustainability #Distillery #SAGESustainability

Nigel Greening and his team at Felton Road Wines Limited experienced a breakthrough in their sustainability practices when three buses came at once. No, this isn’t a piece about three literal buses.
