So many in NA are gearing for the solar eclipse tomorrow. I have been collecting some resources and tips in the lead up and wanted to share them here as well 🌕 Glasses: Get approved eclipse glasses or make a pinhole device to view the eclipse safely. 🌔 Photography: During the eclipse, the temptation to photograph with your phone may arise. Be cautious with eclipse photography; plan ahead for safety before snapping photos. 🌓 If you are on the path of totality, during the moment of totality, remove your eclipse glasses to see the solar corona. Eclipse glasses MUST be worn again before totality ends, which typically lasts 1 minute 45 seconds to 3 minutes 20 seconds depending on location. 🌒 There is a lot to enjoy during the solar eclipse apart from the brief moment of totality. Check out these two videos by Samantha Z. Yammine, PhD: https://lnkd.in/gAV7NfVC, https://lnkd.in/gRpSe8P5 ⚫ Getting there: Arrive at your viewing spot 3-4 hours early and stay a few hours after the eclipse. Use public transport and avoid driving on Monday, especially between 1pm-4pm. 🌘 Layer-up: Expect to be outdoors for a while during the eclipse, and prepare for dropping temperatures by keeping extra warm layers handy. 🌗 Snack-up: Maybe it is just me but crowds and waiting can make me hangry- I like to keep some granola bars/ nuts/bananas and water on hand. 🌖 Charge-up: It might be a long day out in chilly weather, conserve your phone battery. 🌖 Expect crowds: Just as you are excited for the eclipse, so are so many others. Prepare for crowds at the eclipse. Tell a friend your plans, especially if going alone. Be kind and considerate to fellow viewers, lend a helping hand. 🌕 Hope for good weather and most importantly have fun! Here are some additional pointers if you are planning to view the eclipse at Hamilton: 📍 Confederate park was recommended as a viewing spot 📍https://lnkd.in/g5-cYAkN #solareclipse2024 #Toronto #Hamilton

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse, known as the “Great North American Eclipse,” will trace a narrow path of totality across 13 U.S. states. This could affect permits for Oversize/Overweight. Read our blog post to see the path of totality entering and exiting each state. We have also shared a list of affected states and the applicable restrictions. https://lnkd.in/d7SyrNqy #NATSA #Transportation #NorthAmericanTransportationServicesAssociation #TransportationProfessionals #TransportationServices #TransportationIndustry #TransportationManagement #TransportationCompany #TransportationSafety

Eddie leaves an amazing legacy. He retained that key ingredient that is youthful enthusiasm for innovation, entrepreneurship, and life. I feel privileged to have had the benefit of an office beside him in NovaUCD and many chats that covered a multitude of topics. Reflecting on what is next for sustainable and clean energy. Wind, sun, and wave will take us part of the way. Nuclear has and increasingly will have an important role. As reactors become smaller and safer, the possibilities become greater. We must not be unclear about nuclear. Our neighbours in France are showing the way. I hope that the enabling SuperNode Ltd innovation will have a role in integrating efficient distribution of electricity regardless of source or distance. The Currency has done justice to Eddie the person, Eddie the innovator, and Eddie the entrepreneur. Hopefully Eddie’s memory will inspire countless others to not only become innovators and entrepreneurs, but also fulfil roles in public service. If the political will is there, we can but imagine how attracting people like Eddie into public service can improve our health service, housing, etc. Thinking of Eddie’s family and friends.
Eddie O’Connor, who died last week, was a world leader in the development of offshore power and the driving force behind a European supergrid. How can we bring his ideas to fruition?
Eddie O’Connor showed us the way on wind power. We now just have to have the ambition to walk it - The Currency

The calculation of years and time as per our Sanskriti is just marvelous. If we observe, it is exactly matching the lives of our solar system and the way forward.
