What’s the stuff of your nightmares? Decreasing revenue? Endless spreadsheets? Your top performer being poached by the competition?
Can you face those fears?
Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the willingness to act in spite of fear.
It takes bravery to step outside of your comfort zone, to take risks, and to pursue goals. The truth is, we are all capable of being brave, even in the face of adversity. We just need to practice it like we would any other skill.
As leaders, it's essential that we learn to manage our fears and cultivate courage.
Think about a time you acted in spite of fear. What were the positive outcomes from that? Tell us about it in the comments!

Confidence is a function of three essential components: curiosity, competence and courage. Whatever you are curious about you will ultimately become competent about. If you develop enough competence you'll sense the courage to defeat your fears and demonstrate confidence.
Let me explain. Leadership often presents crises, challenges, and obstacles that can shake a leader’s confidence. In moments where your leadership confidence is waning you should leverage the dilemma and develop confidence. If you feel like you don’t know what to do, or how to overcome the challenge, develop confidence by first discovering curiosity!
Your curiosity about understanding the nature of the problem and the possibility of multiple solutions will send you on a quest that will build your confidence. Here are three leadership practices that will help you leverage your curiosity to build confidence:
(Please note: You are not a cat so don’t worry about curiosity killing you.)
1. Ask the right questions no matter how difficult they may seem.
2. Create storm shelters
3. Make it fun
Stay tuned to my next post where I will explain each practice in more detail…

The Leadership Skill of the Future
Have you ever been knocked down?
We all have. We have all been knocked down literally or figuratively before. And chances are, we will all be knocked down again.
You can read this last sentence as discouragement, but it is certainly not meant that way. It is meant to frame our mindset for what is to come. We should expect something will come along and knock us down.
To that end, we must be prepared with the leadership skill of the future.
What is this skill? Resilience!
The question is not if we will be knocked down. The question is when we get knocked down, how long will we stay down?
Resilience is about not staying down for long.
Resilience is about being the quicker-getter-upper.
Allow me to offer you this thought to build your resilience:
"I am never down, I am either up or getting up."
You may indeed find yourself down. For your sake, and the sake of so many people around you, do not stay down. You have too much value to share with others.

Happy Monday you awesome leaders!
I was talking to a friend the other day and I passed on some advice some one else once gave me, “don’t let others negative actions dictate your attitude because your attitude drives your actions.”
It is easy to be negatively influenced if you allow yourself to be. I’m a true believer in keeping a positive attitude and the fruit that it brings.
We are all leaders at some time in life. Leaders at home, at work, in sports, at church, etc. We find that we can create desire and drive action with positive messages and reinforcement. These are more readily available to us when we are in a positive state of mind.
Think back of some experiences that defined some parts of your life. I will bet that if you examine it closely, it was your positive attitude that helped you grow from that experience.
Let’s start being the positive change we would like to see in our lives. You will be surprised how many you may influence.

#Positiveattitude...
A positive attitude and creativity are two critical components that can make a significant difference in leadership roles. They can turn ordinary tasks into remarkable accomplishments that have a real impact. Infusing creativity into our work is essential because it can set us apart and add value.
We should allow ourselves to try new approaches and be open to experimenting with new ideas, even if we have inner fears. These fears may include concerns like "What if I fail?" or "What will others think?". It is important to realize that senior leaders can also struggle with these fears, even though they may be disguised as intellectual rationalizations or other defense mechanisms.
However, we must learn to deal with them and stay true to our values. The best thing about embracing creativity is that it expands our comfort zone, control, and influence, one step at a time. By daring to be different, we can stand out and be innovative in our approach to problem-solving. By adding value to our work, we can make a real difference and achieve our goals.
In summary, let's be proactive in overcoming our fears and embrace creativity to expand our circle of influence. By doing so, we can achieve remarkable results and make a lasting impact...

What is the attitude you approach your work with?
In leadership roles, attitude and creativity are indispensable as they are the crucial ingredients that turn mundane tasks into impactful achievements.
Infusing creativity into our work adds value and sets us apart. Sometimes we need to give ourselves permission to implement new ways of doing things, getting pass inner fears of “what would others think”, “I will be judged”, “what if I fail”, “I need to prove myself”, etc.
I see senior leaders battling those fears sometimes, even though they are carefully camouflaged into intellectual rationalisations and other sparkling defense mechanisms. We learn to deal with them and do what we need to do, honoring our values.
The best thing is that we will expand our circle of comfort, control, and influence. One thing at the time.
Dare to be different, date to stand out, and provide value!

True confidence isn't about seeking approval or validation from others. It's about knowing your worth and being grounded in your own values, even when faced with rejection or disagreement.
As leaders, this mindset is critical. We often face tough decisions, criticism, and moments when not everyone will be on board with our direction. Confidence helps us navigate those challenges with grace and resilience.
So, instead of focusing on trying to please everyone, focus on staying true to your purpose and leading with integrity. Because real confidence isn’t about the applause, it’s about standing strong even in its absence. 🌟

Many people think confidence is the key to success, but the truth is, most high performers—whether actors, leaders, athletes, or public speakers—don’t start with confidence. They start with courage and they find their confidence over time!
Here’s how you can build confidence over time:
🔑 Start with courage: Dig deep and find the courage to start.
🔑 Commit and stay consistent: Keep showing up, even when it’s difficult.
🔑Develop competency: Skills grow with practice and repetition.
🔑Build character: Consistency shapes who you become.
🔑Confidence follows: It’s about taking action despite fear, not eliminating it.
In short: Do it scared.

🌟 Motivation Monday: 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 🌟
Leadership is not about avoiding obstacles but thriving despite them. The greatest leaders aren’t those who never face setbacks—they’re the ones who keep going because of them.
It’s easy to feel discouraged when things don’t go according to plan, but that’s when perseverance truly shines. Great leaders recognize that setbacks are not failures—they’re stepping stones for growth.
As Nelson Mandela once said: "𝗗𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀, 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻."
True leadership is about continuing to push forward, even when the road gets rough. It’s about keeping your vision intact, inspiring your team, and knowing that perseverance will lead you to success, no matter how long it takes.
Remember: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯. 𝘚𝘰, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬, 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧—h𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘣𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺? 💪
