This is a late post about #HBSOnlineConnext. Similar to the sentiments shared by many across the world who attended the event physically or virtually, I share the same high and this closing session stuck with me the most, even over 2 weeks on.
Given that the session lasted over 48 mins, it would require going through the Credential of Readiness (CORe) course developed by Jan Hammond, Bharat Anand and V. G. Narayanan to truly appreciate their perspectives. I have to admit I fought to stay awake given the time difference attending this virtually. However, as these esteemed professors spoke, I practically relived the experience going through CORe with new insights. Back then, it was trying getting through the demands of work while committing to the milestones of the program that stretched 12 weeks. I used to dread the cold calls at different junctures of each module, but learnt to embrace them with a bring-it-on attitude over time. It was refreshing knowing that while we are learning individually, I was gaining so much more not just from the content delivered, but from the perspectives shared by the peers in the same cohort. I remember tripping over questions especially for financial accounting yet knowing that the call is mine to attempt again. The exam was not fun but it kept me on track with what I signed up for. It was phew!, when I found out I made it.
With this closing session of #HBSOnlineConnext, I have new-found appreciation of the "why" and the "how" of this program, as well as the exciting possibilities ahead. What I heard from this 48 mins is conviction to a shared vision, trust, discipline, reliance, collaboration and the courage to learn and adapt. Two weeks on, I am still in awe with the foresight and vision to evolve and extend access of knowledge and expertise beyond geographical boundaries the way HBSO has done. I find myself actively seeking out my usual "partners-in-crime" ranging from learning specialists to anyone who would allow me to pull them along to take learning and collaboration to the next level and unlock more possibilities for collaboration. This is especially so when we often feel limited by talents and resources when the real limitations may well be our persectives of boundaries. Incredibly grateful for the opportunities to learn, apply and make a difference.
