Our CEO Michelle Werner will be speaking at CureDuchenne's #FUTURES2024 on Friday about 'nonsense' mutations, which cause premature termination codons. Michelle will also speak about the unique potential of #tRNA medicines to treat #StopCodonDisease, especially in Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Given the unique challenges of dystrophin being one of the largest genes in the human genome, tRNA may be the only genetic medicine capable of rescuing the production of full-length dystrophin protein that has been truncated by a nonsense mutation. (September 8th)r I asked our Pathology team what went well for them last week, and here are a few of their thoughts: ✅ Congratulations to Toni & Michelle who successfully submitted their completed poster for the 2024 National Society for Histotechnology Convention! ✅ Mel, one of our Histology Team members, turned 24 this past week! ✅ Our histology team has been working on some method development involving resin embedding of teeth, and things are progressing really well. ✅ Meat, our necropsy supervisor convinced Pavel, our histology supervisor, to cut off his man bun! ✅ Football started up again this week! ———————————————— WHY AM I SHARING THIS? I work in a fast-paced research environment, in which there’s a never-ending conveyer belt of work, with long days, tight deadlines, and unplanned extra stuff that throws a spanner into the works literally every day. I bet most of you can relate to much of all of this. It takes a dedicated team with their eye on the mission to come together and do their best to win the week. I’m privileged to be part of one such team. Every weekend, I like to reflect on the wins we had in our department during the past week. It’s easy to focus on the frustrations, the curveballs, or what you didn’t quite check off the To Do list. So I find that a little positive reframing is not just a good reminder of what went well, but also sets me up for a positive start to the new week. I try to remember to share some of these wins here, because it makes them seem more real.

Meilleur, a joint venture of our portfolio company Sinotau Pharmaceutical Group, that holds global rights to NAV-4694, an ß amyloid PET imaging agent for Alzheimer's disease, was acquired by Lantheus. Under the terms of the agreement, Lantheus will provide an upfront payment as well as potential additional development and commercial milestone payments. Additionally, Lantheus will make royalty payments for research revenue and commercial sales. Structured as a stock purchase, the agreement specifies, among other things, that the sellers will also provide transition and clinical development services for a prescribed time following the closing of the transaction. NAV-4694 is currently in Phase 3 development and is also being used in academic and industry investigational therapeutic trials. What does this recognition mean? I asked our Pathology team what went well for them last week, and here are a few of their thoughts: ✅ Congratulations to CBSET’s Hayden Dillow! He just found out that his poster abstract submission for ACVP2024 was accepted! So he’ll be joining us pathologists in Seattle in December for the annual meeting. ✅ Our Histology Team has been really stretched recently, between histology projects and other priority tasks that have pulled our team members in different directions. They’ve done an admirable job of keeping up! ✅ Our Necropsy team has similarly done a great job of strategizing to meet study timelines and navigate complex study needs. ✅ Our IHC scientist continues to do an excellent job. He is currently working on various method development projects to optimize some markers that have previously been temperamental. He’s getting some great results! ✅ Nicole Cedrone and Madi Keefe fine tuned their plumbing skills this week. After an equipment leak, they decided to hit the aisles of Home Depot to pick up some tubing, and they managed to seal the leak point! Move over MacGyver! ———————————————— WHY AM I SHARING THIS?
