Junk health insurance policies should be illegal.🤬 What patient, upon receiving this letter, would NOT interpret it to mean that authorized procedure was going to be covered by their plan?!?!?🤔 My client went into back surgery under the assumption that his (crappy non-ACA compliant) insurance would cover charges according to his in-network benefits (you know, because he received a letter stating that the procedure was a) authorized, and b) covered by the plan). After surgery, he received a $90k+ bill from the hospital. The surgery charges were denied due to a pre-existing condition. 🤬🤬🤬 I'm 1000% certain that it could have been determined at the time of prior authorization whether the patient had been treated for this back issue prior to his becoming effective on the crap policy. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 How long are we going to let this keep happening to innocent healthcare consumers? 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 #patientadvocacy #medicalbillssuck #tohellwithjunkhealthinsurancepolicies #fixitJesus

While he was initially focused on the coverage amount, we took the time to discuss the limitations of standard health insurance plans. In India, most health insurance policies cover basic monofocal lenses for cataract surgery. While these lenses can effectively treat cataracts, they may not provide the best visual clarity or accommodate specific needs like reading without glasses. My client was interested in advanced lenses that offered better vision quality. By understanding the limitations of his coverage and the additional costs involved, he was able to make an informed decision about his surgery. Key takeaway: When considering health insurance for any procedure always take time to understand the fine print.
