In 2001, riding the wave of the new millennium, KATOWICE became the epicenter of global innovation and cooperation. The International Mining, Energy, Metallurgy and Chemistry Fair brought together more than 550 exhibitors from 23 countries, transforming Silesia's industrial landscape into a dynamic forum for discussing the future of technology and industry. It was a time when Silesia's local aspirations met global challenges, creating a unique space for dialog and innovation. As Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek recalled, the value of the event translated into a powerful affirmation of the fair's stature on the international stage. Jan Hoppe, then Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Katowice International Fair, emphasized the growing importance of the energy and chemical sectors, which testifies to the development and economic diversification of the region. Marshal Jan Olbrycht added that the stereotypes of Silesia as an exclusively industrial region are now a thing of the past. Thus, KATOWICE 2001 was not only a celebration of technology, but first and foremost a witness to the birth of a new era, where tradition meets innovation and stereotypes give way to new possibilities. It's fantastic to see another of TOMRA Mining's XRT Sorters being installed at Saloro, echoing the success we've experienced at Mt Carbine. Leveraging XRT Sorting technology has significantly upgraded our tungsten ore processing, mirroring the positive outcomes now being celebrated by Saloro. The adoption of sensor-based sorting is a game-changer, driving cost optimization by effectively de-bulking barren waste early in the process. This translates to substantial savings across several downstream OPEX drivers from wear rates, reduced power consumption, handling costs, etc... to less downstream capital requirements. Having worked with TOMRA Sorters since 2011, I've witnessed their efficiency in several challenging environments and under pretty adverse operating conditions and can testify to their quality and capability across several minerals and metals. From working with them in relatively remote locations in Zimbabwe and several plants in South Africa to now working with them at Mt Carbine with EQ Resources Limited in tropical FNQ, the machines continuously deliver fantastic results when operated correctly (feed prep is king). These machines are more than just equipment; they are pivotal in enhancing processing efficiency. I'm keen to see the benefits to Saloro from this innovative technology, reinforcing the value of sensor-based sorting in the mining industry. 📊How do we create value?   As a leading operator of mid-to-late life assets, we commit to making the most of our assets through near-field exploration close to our production hubs.   ➡️ Near-field exploration has favourable economics and can contribute to new volumes at lower costs and risk.    One of our interesting projects is the Galtvort gas discovery.    Facts about Galtvort:   🔹 The discovery was made in the Jurassic sandstones Garn and Tilje 🔹 It´s located approximately 12 km and 5 km northwest of Draugen and Hasselmus, respectively 🔹 Preliminary estimated recoverable volumes of the Galtvort discovery are 11 mmboe, with additional volume upsides in interesting prospects within the license    ❓And did you know? We developed Hasselmus with future discoveries in mind, installing a pipeline slightly larger than necessary, including a tie-back possibility subsea to accommodate future volume.   It is, therefore, possible to achieve a simplified development of Galtvort tied back to Draugen via Hasselmus, increasing the lifespan and value creation for Draugen.   #operationalexcellence

A second refurb is very possible getting CANDUs to 90-100 year assets. Success of refurbs driving excitement about new build CANDU. 3 billion loan by Canadian export bank to Romania a big part of 1st CANDU new builds in 2 decades which will provide a huge boost to new CANDU construction. Last 7 CANDUs built around the world have been on budget and on time. New 1GW scale CANDU design in the pipeline. Advantage is that CANDU already a gen 3+ reactor so doesn’t require radical redesign. In late 2022, Everledger extended its support to the ORIGEMA program, which focuses on addressing the challenges of artisanal & small-scale diamond mining (ASM) in the Congo DRC. Instead of simply talking about positive change, the project aimed to make a tangible impact before showcasing its efforts. Despite limited budgets, OrigemA has strived & materialised value whilst creating a significant and real difference in the lives of artisanal and small-scale diamond miners in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) through various initiatives, highlighted in the video provided. Two notable achievements: the development of a sustainable agricultural project at one of the mining sites, such as Bonkala, exemplifying how even small investments can have a substantial and far-reaching impact. Secondly a insetting program (not offsetting), realising renewable energy infrastructure (more on that next week :)) Furthermore, OrigemA is again poised to take a significant step forward by enabling cooperatives to export their diamond production to Antwerp World Diamond Centre, one of the most prominent marketplaces for rough diamonds globally. The cooperation of key figures such as the DRC's Mining Minister, Antoinette N'SAMBA KALAMBAYI, and the CEEC (Central & East European Clearing House) was crucial to finalizing the necessary groundwork for this endeavour. OrigemA is a collaborative project involving the foundational partners of Antwerp World Diamond Centre, The Diamond Development Initiative (DDI) , RESOLVE , Ministère des Mines - RDC, Everledger,SAEMAPE , and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belgium. The focus of this initiative is on promoting sustainability and positive change in the diamond industry, particularly in artisanal mining communities.
