We’re thrilled to have been contracted by Tata Steel Nederland, one of Europe's largest steel producers, to develop a state-of-the-art steel production line in IJmuiden, the Netherlands! This initiative is key to Tata Steel Nederland's Green Steel Plan initiative, launched in 2023, which aims to significantly reduce the environmental impact of the IJmuiden site thanks to the installation of a Direct Reduction Plant (DRP) and a new steelmaking line. The contract will include: 📐 Basic engineering (currently underway). ⚙️ Engineering, supply, and advisory services for a 3-million-ton Electric Arc Furnace (#EAF) featuring advanced Consteel® and Consteerrer® technology, developed in partnership with ABB. ⭐ Secondary metallurgy facilities, including Ladle Furnaces and RH vacuum degassers, to ensure the highest quality standards for the automotive industry. To minimize environmental impact, the new plant will incorporate several innovative technologies including a Fumes Treatment Plant, Waste Energy Recovery System, and Dry Slag Granulation Unit. Last year, the ENERGIRON® technology, jointly developed with Danieli, was selected for the DRP. This project underscores Tenova's commitment to advancing #sustainable steel production through cutting-edge technology and innovation.
