#quantumcomputing is certainly coming to the enterprise! Investments into the sector by oil majors and banking institutions (see other news) show that enterprises are now looking at it seriously. I was pleased to visit a quantum computing facility that was deployed in a commercial data center and what struck me as counterintuitive is the low energy consumption of QCs compared to legacy compute…given the energy requirements for AI, my personal prediction is that energy efficiency may be as big, or bigger, driver of adoption as quantum supremacy in compute /utility…QCs such as OQCs have a threshold energy requirement for cooling but marginal qubits add minimal energy consumption. QCs will also need to work in tandem with Hewlett Packard Enterprise supercomputers and our award winning #quantumsafe #5G networks!!
