Moto GP #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthikers #designthinking Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the highest class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the start of the twentieth century[1] and large national events were often given the title Grand Prix.[2] The foundation of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme as the international governing body for motorcycle sport in 1949 provided the opportunity to coordinate rules and regulations in order that selected events could count towards official World Championships. It is the oldest established motorsport

BWT Alpine F1 Team heads to Spielberg for Round 11 of the 2024 FIA F1 World Championship, the Austrian Grand Prix. Esteban Ocon says: I have always liked racing in Austria. I have some fond memories here. Back in 2020, after a year out from racing, racing in Spielberg was the first one of the season. I remember the very wet Qualifying that year when we managed to qualify in fifth. In 2022, we had a good weekend here, taking ten points in fifth place. The track itself is short so usually the field is close and every hundredth and thousandth of a second counts. We have to get our high speed balance right and the aim for us is keep the positive trend going, which means an eye on Q3 again and, of course, valuable points. Pierre Gasly also says: Triple headers are always challenging. After Barcelona we’re straight into Austria and for a busy Sprint weekend. Spielberg is a short lap, the shortest for lap times during the year, with only nine corners. It’s a challenging one with kerbs, hard braking zones and a lot of high-speed corners. It’s always a very good event in Austria, a great atmosphere and a place I have enjoyed racing. We must take our learnings from Barcelona – especially high speed performance and balance – and apply them here this weekend. As it’s a Sprint we have to be on the pace straight away and put ourselves in a position to compete in both races. Did you know, Alpine performed its three fastest pitstops of the 2024 season in the Spanish Grand Prix. With Pierre Gasly’s 2.32s stop in the Japanese GP being their previous best, the team performed stops of 2.03s (Ocon), 2.24s (Gasly) and 2.27s (Ocon again) in Catalunya, making Alpine the third-fastest team in pitlane in 2024, behind only championship leaders Oracle Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Ferrari HP. #Alpine #alpinecars #alpineracing #alpinef1team #f1 #formula1 #AlpineF1 #AustrianGP #redbullring #AlpineCars #spielberg #raceday #teamenstone

🏁 F1 Sim Racing World Championship resume in Stockholm! 🏁 Last week marked the long-awaited resumption of F1 Sim Racing in Stockholm, Sweden. After a break since November 2023, the championship resumed with remarkable intensity. The pace was fast: two qualifying rounds in the early afternoon, followed by the two races at the end of the day, over three days. Despite our best efforts, the team didn't manage to score any points until the last race, classifying us in 9th place in the championship for the time being. But nothing's decided yet. With five races left in May, the team has the opportunity to move up the standings. The team has identified where to improve and the last race showed that the team is able with both cars to score points in the top 10. Sometimes it is not about how you start but rather how you finish. This week has been rich in lessons. We had the opportunity to meet and exchange with other teams and drivers, creating a vibrant and enriching atmosphere during the championship. 🤝🏎️ We are determined to progress and improve before our next participation in a few weeks' time. As shared by F1 coach, Gregory "we are not quiters", and we are looking towards our progression and the final event of the championship! We can't wait to get back on the track and keep pushing our limits. 💪🏁 #esports #championship #simracing #teams

America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta Day 1 report: Lessons for teams and organisers alike https://ift.tt/Lg7zOr0 The first day of the America's Cup Preliminary Regatta has concluded with winners and losers and lots of lessons for all concerned Nearly four years after we last saw AC75s fighting it out on the water, today, Thursday 22nd August 2024 saw the foiling monohulls back on the water. The six teams taking part in the 2024 America’s Cup were on the waters of Barcelona duking it out as the America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta got underway. Today also marks exactly 173 years since the yacht America won a race around the Isle of Wight on 22nd August 1851 and thus kicked off the America’s Cup all those years ago. It was not expected to be an incredibly revealing event – with racing proper, the Louis Vuitton Cup, set to begin on 29th August, no teams were expected to be pushing too hard or revealing too much – but even with this in mind, it was something of an inauspicious start, with plenty to do from both the teams and the organisers to make this a real spectacle. Barcelona itself, however, was delivering with a solid breeze in the early to mid-teens and a decent sea state providing some impressive conditions. Certainly we have heard a great deal from designers about the waves in the lead up to this Cup and the difficulty of the short, sharp chop for a foiling monohull was clear from the off. Key takeaways from Day 1 Worrying sense of Déjà vu for the Brits as Ainslie seemed unimpressed with his team’s speed The French have a long way to go and their inexperience showed here Technical gremlins on boats and broadcast dogged the opening day Emirares Team New Zealand and American Magic probably had the best days Photo: Ricardo Pinto / America’s Cup Race 1 Alinghi Red Bull Racing Vs Orient Express Racing Team Skippers Alinghi Red Bull Racing: Arnaud Psarofaghis & Maxime Bachelin Orient Express Racing Team: Quentin Delapierre & Kevin Pepponet The first race of the America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta 2024 was, realistically over before it started with the French Orient Express Racing Team late into the starting box and picking up a penalty for their efforts. There was some debate in commentary that the team may have had an issue with their electronics, but this did not seem to be supported by skipper Quentin Delapierre. “We made too many mistakes and at this level that is not [good enough],” the Frenchman explained. “We just gave the start to Alinghi. We missed the entry and after that we were not able to take the strategy of the start correctly. We just need to do things better.” After such a poor start it was always going to be nigh on impossible to overtake another boat unless you have a great deal of boatspeed in hand. Ultimately it was a relatively easy win for Alinghi Red Bull Racing who kept a close cover on their French competitors to cross the finish first. What did we learn from the America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta Race 1...

Here you can find my last editorial for the May's edition of the MXGP Magazin. Infront Moto Racing Infront Sports & Media AG #infrontmotoracing #infrontsports #allaboutsports #allaboutmxgp #mxgp #mx2 #motorsports #motocross #riders #marketing #sports #sportsbusiness #sportmarketing #mxgpmag
David Luongo – EDITORIAL – MXGP MAG #128 As we are gearing up for the Liqui Moly MXGP of Germany in Teutschenthal, it is already the time for our May’s edition of the MXGP Magazine. The past month has been very intense with our first triple headers Grand Prix that took place in Portugal, Spain and France. The MXGP of Portugal was very challenging with the weather conditions, but despite the very heavy rain during the whole weekend in Agueda, we, together with the local organizer, were capable to deliver a Grand Prix in good conditions. It is in these occasions that you really realise how much effort and determination motocross requires, and how much the sport is growing. In fact our champions are constantly proving that they can ride in any condition, and it is not the case in any other sport. I would also like to emphasise the great work made by the track crew and the organizer; they did an amazing work on the track during the whole Saturday night until Sunday morning to allow the Grand Prix to take place, and also in between the different races. Pauls Jonass got his first Grand Prix victory in the MXGP class during this crazy weekend, and it was a great reward for Honda Standing Construct Team. One week later, Spain welcomed the MXGP on a bright new track in the beautiful region of Galicia, near the hometown of the reigning World Champion Jorge Prado. This new track, designed on a very natural and elevated area, received a lot of positive feedback from the whole paddock. The Spanish fans answered massively the call and came to cheer for the local hero. Jorge Prado made a perfect weekend and won the Grand Prix. Then we went back to Saint Jean d’Angely for the Monster Energy Grand Prix of France. We had to face again a very challenging weekend with heavy rain during Saturday and Sunday. Here again the organizer together with our track crew did an amazing job of maintenance on the track and the whole venue. The French fans came once again massively to celebrate the comeback of the best riders in the world after the Monster Energy MXoN that took place in Ernee last October. […] Read all the Editor here https://lnkd.in/dansxy6t We cannot wait for the racing this weekend in Teutschenthal for the next round of the MXGP World Championship. See you in Germany!
