Shansea Faavesi on our Kona team began working with Naniq at the beginning of January as a package sorter. When her manager saw that she showed promise, she was asked to become an equipment operator working planeside and responded "I feel like operating equipment is too much responsibility". After some convincing and lots of training, however, Shansea is now one of our most skilled equipment ops and is an asset to the Kona crew. Thank you for your courage and growth, Shansea! Last Monday. Sharing behind the scene work leading up to the launch of MyWira: Program Kesinambungan Kerjaya. It was initiated from an earlier discussion with Ramu Iyer & Moorthy Murugaiah last year about tapping the Veterans talent pool for Micron Technology Malaysia & the E&E Sector. The proposal fits well with Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp)'s Thrust 1: Optimising Malaysian Talent - which we strongly believe the most sustainable talent pool for the nation. Both parties then worked simultaneously, Micron engaging the leaders in the Second Division of the Malaysian Infantry (2 Div), TalentCorp engaging Yazit Hashim, who was with Jabatan Hal Ehwal Veteran (JHEV) to further explore potential collaboration. Fast forward, Micron launched their initial engagement with the Veterans last November & in December we started to discuss how we can scale up this initiative at national level, across military wings so that it can benefit more Veterans across the nation & beyond the E&E sector. This was followed by a series of discussions with MINDEF, Perhebat early January 2024. From Ministry of Human Resources perspective, MyWira framework aligns strongly with 3K pillars outlined by YB Minister Steven Sim - Kebajikan Pekerja (Welfare of the Veterans), Kemahiran Pekerja (Upskill & rightskill the Veterans) & Keberhasilan Pekerja (Optimising Veterans talent pool). Finally, on the 22nd of January 2024, following strong cross stakeholders collaborative efforts - TalentCorp, KSM, MINDEF, Perbadanan Hal Ehwal Bekas Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (Perhebat) & Micron as the catalyst company, we launched MyWira, for our Wira Tak Didendang (unsung heroes). Together with Perhebat, we're now working hard with industry partners (in particular our Future Skills Talent Council members) to streamline the smooth transition of our Veterans from the military service to decent employment.
