🌱🌍 Cultivating a Sustainable Future Together 🌱🌍 Our planet's food systems are facing unprecedented challenges, with climate change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem destruction threatening the very foundation of our sustenance. 🌍🌾Dwindling water sources and severe droughts are degrading soils, making almost one-quarter of the earth’s land less productive. But it’s still possible to turn back the tide, restore ecosystems, and manage our land and water sustainably – if rural people take the lead. Land has an incredible ability to restore itself – if given the chance. By empowering rural communities and harnessing the regenerative power of nature, we can restore balance and create sustainable food systems. Land, when nurtured, can heal and provide for us. 🌱 Wang & Tangang Foundation is dedicated to this mission. We believe that rural people are the key to sustainable change. By involving and empowering those who depend on the land, we can recover degraded soils and ensure food security for all. 🌾 Join us in this journey towards a sustainable future. Your support can help us cultivate a world where every community has access to healthy, nutritious food, and where ecosystems are thriving. 🌱🤝Together, we can turn the tide on environmental degradation and build a resilient food system that supports both people and the planet. Let's grow a future where every bite is a step towards sustainability. 🌱🌍 #WangTangangFoundation #SustainableFarming #EcosystemRestoration #SDG15 #FoodSecurity #WTFoundation #InspiringAction #ImpactingGenerations #ChenchenWang #LionelTangang

Here are some insights by our Founder and CEO, Edwin Odhiambo, ahead of the #JourneyofWater Campaign by WWF-Kenya that is set to begin tomorrow: "The degradation of River Kibos highlights broader environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation, poor waste management, and climate change in our urban centres and their environments, Kisumu to be specific. To protect the river against such, we need to: 1. Control Pollution: Enforce regulations, conduct community clean-ups, and promote proper waste disposal. 2. Reforest: Implement tree planting programs and engage communities in afforestation efforts. 3. Promote Sustainable Agriculture: Establish buffer zones and educate farmers on eco-friendly practices. 4. Monitor Water Quality: Regularly monitor water and develop natural wastewater treatments like constructed wetlands. 5. Improve Governance: Adopt integrated water resource management and reform policies for better community involvement and water resource protection. These steps can help mitigate the River Kibos degradation and promote environmental sustainability." #JourneyOfWater #Voices4Rivers #RiverKibos #Catchment2Tap #WaterResourceManagement #MitoYetuJukumuLetu #YouthAndUrbanism

Labuan Bajo’s natural beauty is truly captivating. Golo Mori, a neighboring village stands out as a prime example. Surrounded by savannas, rice fields, beaches, and the iconic Golo Mori hill, this village is brimming with potential as a top tourist destination. The Golo Mori Todo Cama, as one of the piloting projects from Catalyst Changemakers Ecosystem 2.0 consisting of Divers Clean Action (DCA), Kole Project, karmabumi, and Sky Volunteer, is dedicated to unlock this potential by developing a waste-free, self-sufficient, and #safeTourism destination, thereby boosting the local economy through circular agribusiness principles. To create a waste-free village, an integrated waste management system and disposal facilities have been set up. The community has shown commendable initiative by constructing waste bin frames and communal trash bins, and forming the Golo Mori Waste Care Group (PSG) to oversee household waste segregation. #RegenerativeFarming systems also have been introduced, yielding organic food while rejuvenating the environment. Overcoming social challenges, 50 farmers, twice the initial target, are eager to adopt this system. Additionally, the project has established a disaster volunteer group, Laskar Tangguh Golo Mori, to educate residents on disaster mitigation and resilience. Mapping evacuation routes in the 14,243 km² village has been a challenging yet crucial task, with key areas prioritized to ensure safety. Despite the hurdles, the Golo Mori Todo Cama Solution Implementation Project continues to advance, fueled by the active engagement of the local community. #SustainableDevelopment #CommunityEmpowerment #CircularEconomy

The ongoing pond rejuvenation in Dadri marks another significant intervention by #HCLFoundation in promoting water sustainability & liquid waste management. That involves a comprehensive approach starting with a detailed assessment of the pond's current condition, followed by cleaning, desilting & strengthen the embankments to enhance water retention capacity and prevent clogging from accumulated waste. Additionally, a small Iceland and native plant species are being planted around the pond to restore the local ecosystem, improve soil health, and support biodiversity. A critical aspect of this initiative is the active participation of local women, whose involvement in the restoration work underscores their vital role in environmental stewardship. This pond rejuvenation will benefit both the environment and the local communities. The final picture is yet to come, but the groundwork is steadily progressing towards a greener, more sustainable future for Dadri. #HCLFoundation #My Clean City by HCLFoundation Akshay Ahuja Nitesh Mishra #WaterSustainability #PondRejuvenation #EcologicalRestoration #Biodiversity #Sustainability #SDG #WomenInConservation #LiquidWasteManagement #GreenInitiatives #NaturalResourceManagement #ClimateAction #EcoFriendly #WaterConservation #WetlandRestoration #GreenDevelopment #SustainableDevelopment #EnvironmentalImpact #WasteWaterTreatment #NatureBasedSolutions #RuralDevelopment

🇹🇭 Thailand is one of the world’s leading rice producers and exporters, particularly of #HomMali rice, producing an estimated 30-million tonnes of rice annually and exporting up to 10 million tonnes. However, increasing rice production and #monocropping over the past decades and lack of sustainable landscape management have resulted in significant environmental degradation, greenhouse gas emissions, declining biodiversity, and weakened ecosystems. ⏩ Building on the successes of previous initiatives supported by GIZ in cooperation with Thai Rice Department under Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Olam Agri, a multinational agrifood company, since 2018 through #develoPPP programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Inclusive Sustainable Rice Landscapes Project #ISRL aims to transform the Thai rice value chain for environmental sustainability and #biodiversity restoration. ⚙ Funded by Global Environment Facility, implemented by UN Environment Programme and executed by GIZ Thailand, the project will be piloted in the northernmost province of Chiang Rai and a northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani. ✅ Check out this video to learn how #ISRL will be carried out for generating short-term and long-term benefits for farmers, communities, biodiversity and landscape systems🌏.
