Our recent night out at the Hartford Yard Goats game was a fantastic opportunity for over 200 Nassau team members to connect with colleagues and friends, all while cheering on our local minor league baseball team. It was a special honor for our team to be the flag bearers on centerfield, representing Nassau with pride. Events like these not only strengthen our internal community but also support Hartford's economic growth. From restaurants and hotels to parking operators and transportation partners, local businesses thrive with the influx of visitors to the city and stadium. The impact goes beyond entertainment, as the franchise creates jobs for hundreds of residents in various roles, including ushers, food service workers, and management. Supporting the Yard Goats means supporting Hartford's vibrant community. Let's keep the energy high and cheer them on as they head into the playoffs! #HartfordHasIt

Here’s a take that might not sit well with everyone, but I’m OK with that: at some point, everyone should consider starting their own business. Here’s why: eventually, you’ll face job loss, whether through being laid off, your company going under, or simply hitting an age when hiring becomes harder. For many, especially as they get older, this leaves them without steady income or clear options. Take a look at two types of employees. One flips burgers at Burger King for $14 an hour, counting down to payday. The other also flips burgers, but watches every part of the business closely, learning what it takes to run a franchise. This second person is positioning themselves for something bigger. The lesson here? Wherever you are in your career, take in everything around you. Absorb what you need to open doors to starting something of your own one day. It’s the surest way to stay ready for whatever’s next. For those who say “not everyone is meant to own a business” I think you’re doing yourself and others who you influence a big disservice.

Winning at Winning Last night I had the blessing of being at SuperBowl 58 in Las Vegas. It’s always an incredible experience and it showcases the best of the best! What you see is winners. To get to this place you have to WIN! There is no prize for trying. All but 2 teams were home watching! What you see in KC is a team that consistently WINS - the hardest thing to do. It’s one thing to become a champion but to repeat is a different level altogether. The same is true in business. The rewards we want come from the winning. The winning comes from the work. But winning at winning is super hard to do. Not only does the competition continue to improve but we have to guard against complacency. Typically after a good week or month or year - results tail off. The antidote is STANDARDS. Once they become non-negotiable the rest falls into place. There is a sign in the KC Locker room which reads - WINNING IS THE STANDARD! It’s not just a sign. It’s the Chiefs way of being. Period. The results speak for themselves. Well playtime is over. Back to the business of winning. I’ll see you at the top!

Owner of Savannah Bananas, Creator of Banana Ball, Author of Fans First & Find Your Yellow Tux, Keynote Speaker
Before the biggest game in Savannah Bananas history at Nationals Park, I spoke to our group of 200+ people about the importance of doing more than just their job and how that is always been the Fans First way. I shared how the reason we are where we are today is because of that little extra and how are job is always bigger than just our job. I've been so inspired by watching everyone on our team from interns to my wife Emily Cole with how our people have always found a way to go out of their way for our fans and their teammates. With this now being our third MLB stadium and the expectations continuing to rise, I wanted our team know that giving that little extra was more important now than ever. Later that night after one of our most magical shows and experiences, our entire team and front office met and shared so many stories, shout outs and fans first moments that they created. I'm proud to say that their "little extra" shined bright at the Nation's Capital and for the 42,000 fans that went Bananas with us at Nationals Park.

In the film Moneyball, Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) has an epiphany: baseball's conventional wisdom of relying on high-profile star players is all wrong. Joining forces with Yale economics wunderkind Peter Brand (Jonah Hill), Beane assembles a team of less flashy players who nonetheless have game-winning potential, an aggregate rather than an all-star approach. In fact, SUPERSTRUCTURES has more than its fair share of superstars. But most critically, we’re judged by our clients (and ourselves) based on the results we produce collaboratively, functioning not as individuals but as a team. In that sense, we have something fundamental in common with Moneyball’s A’s. But our focus is skin and skeleton—not home runs. We specialize in restoration of the building envelope and supporting structure, and an array of materials—from terra cotta to reinforced concrete to high-performance curtain walls. We work on facades, roofs, plazas, sidewalk vaults, parking structures, retaining walls, and more. See what our team can do for you: www.superstructures.com #restoration #team #baseball
