Thanks Civil Contractors Federation Tasmania Ltd for hosting an energetic and passionate strategic planning day with industry and stakeholders. Diversity and inclusion were major talking points.... if only we could take on board these wise words: Loads of companies talk a good game about diversity and inclusion. But let's be real - for most, it's just ticking boxes and slapping some nice words on their website. In reality… If it doesn't boost their profits, they couldn't care less. But there are some companies doing things differently. What are they doing? They make it a point to ONLY look at blind CVs. They remove ALL names, ages, and any bias-triggering details from resumes. To focus solely on skills and experience. Nothing else. I want to live and work in that world, and I think the future generations do to..... Their core values are Integrity, Innovation, creativity, and collaboration. They don't just post these values on a wall. They live them. And here’s what they’ve discovered: They’re attracting more diverse candidates They’re hiring people from different walks of life They’ve created a culture of innovation and collaboration Recruiting for them is an absolute pleasure. Because the company sells itself. Here's the takeaway: If you want your company to stand out, don't just talk about your values. Live them. Show us you mean it. Because in a world full of noise, actions speak louder than words 🌍

For those who are living under a rock, I have some dirt on the Geotechnical Market: - Market Volatility: Companies are cautious due to redundancies, prioritizing project stability over expansion. - Salary Trends: Compensation has seen a decline compared to previous years. - Regional Variations: Geotechnical engineers in Regional Australia are experiencing growth amidst higher demand. - Industry Resilience: Despite challenges, the market is expected to expand, as developments and infrastructure demands are growing. In this evolving landscape, my aim is to facilitate effective connections between clients and candidates. It's crucial for candidates to focus on skill development and for employers to make strategic hiring decisions. Let's navigate this new market by testing foundations and digging deep into the soil. #GeotechnicalEngineering #JobMarket Ivory Group

Working on Regional Estimating roles in Australia... 👀 It's been a challenge. 🤔 However over the past 3 months: We've searched every corner of Australia to find good people for our clients. This includes clients in the: Civil and Mining Industry ✅ Commercial Fit Out & Interiors ✅ Residential Homes ✅ Electrical and LNG ✅ On average, we are reviewing 2000+ profiles per search, engaging with 200+ and shortlisting to a select group of 2 or 3. The reality here is that there is a massive sell that goes into regional work. We research House prices (rent and buy) 🏠 Work opportunities for their spouses 👨👩👦👦 Proximity to hospitals, schools, airports ✈️ Childcare availability 🐣 Crime statistics and safety 👮 Opportunity for development 📈 And it can all come crashing down when a candidate changes their mind or something out of the blue happens. However we don't give up. We continue the fight for our clients and stick in partnership with them. 🤝 This is one of our company values that I'll never, ever fall short with. Never ever giving up. 💪 #ProofIsInTheProgress GEDON™ | Executive Recruitment

The construction industry has faced a serious talent attraction challenge for several decades. Even though, those of us familiar with the industry know, the work is fulfilling, challenging, and lucrative for those looking to build a career. Not everyone wants to work behind a desk all day, and these jobs rarely involve that. It's great to see #GenZ on social media working to showcase the options available in construction and other blue-collar jobs. I'm also excited at the prospect to see social media help diversify the talent pool as well! Check out the article for more #Construction #BlueCollarJobs #constructionhr

Great article in the The Wall Street Journal, Gen Z Plumbers and Construction Workers Are Making #BlueCollar Cool: https://lnkd.in/eJ4ZQEDp; It's remarkable to witness Gen Z's renewed interest in skilled trades and blue-collar work. With a 16% increase in enrollments at vocational-focused community colleges, more young people are recognizing the value and opportunities within these fields. This shift is not just about avoiding debt from a four-year degree; it's about embracing rewarding and well-paying careers. The pay for new construction hires now surpasses that of some professional services, making trades an increasingly attractive option. It's exciting to see this resurgence and the positive impact it will have on the industry and our economy. Credit: #LinkedInNews Story this morning: https://lnkd.in/gHzbrn-D What are your thoughts? 🚀 Helping exceptional recruiters start, run & develop their own recruitment agencies through our effective recruitment startup support model • Isotope 🟨 •
There's no denying it. Running your own construction recruitment agency can be a trying thing to do at times. & I think that's putting it gently 😅 It's f*cking hard work, in a tough sector & one that's unforgiving at times which is part of the reason I admire the clients we support across the sector in the manner I do (& we all do come to say that). Ox Construction Recruitment Ltd is no different 💯 This is a business we've just announced the launch of, headed up by Krystian Forsyth. I've been lucky enough to speak with Krys about the idea of starting his own agency for a long old time now, from those first tentative conversations to some pretty lengthy phone calls & meetings really building the mechanics of how this business would look, work & how it would operate with the support of Isotope around it. A long time coming but we'ee here now & couldn't be more excited for the future. Onwards & Upwards. Check out the website in it's glory here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e-S2GpBd #recruitmentstartup #recruitmentinvestment #recruitmentbusinesssupport #recruitmentbusinesssetup #businesstips #recruitmentstartuptips
