Tyler’s journey into the construction industry isn't just about taking any program/course—it's about finding a path that fits. We're thrilled that Transition to Work could help Tyler discover that path and secure a role at Duggans. Tyler’s manager, Rodney has nothing but praise for him, noting how he's already building a solid reputation. Thanks to the combined efforts of our Program support team—Akshay, Shaniah, and his Youth Coach Dhaval —Tyler got to step out of his comfort zone and explore the construction industry. Tyler completed the Civil Contractors Federation Tasmania Ltd's two-week course, which led to a work placement at Duggans. His dedication and excellent performance during the placement earned him a continuing role at the company. We are sure this experience has given Tyler the confidence to keep venturing out, try new things, and grow.

Everyone has the right to feel safe at work and the road worksite is no exception. Every day hundreds of Tasmanians work on our roads as our State strives to build safer roads for all Tasmanians. Yesterday Labor committed $700,000 over four years for the continuation of the successful Your Speed is Our Safety campaign. The campaign is an important educational tool to drive increased awareness and improved behaviours for the betterment of all road network users and the safety of our on-road workforce. The Your Speed is Our Safety Campaign is a joint partnership of Civil Contractors Federation of Tasmania, the Tasmanian Government and the Traffic Management Authority of Australia.

Now this is more my style! Growing up on the farm, we learnt by doing. Because there’s nothing like hands-on experience. Today, I was proud to commit that a re-elected majority Liberal Government will build Tasmania's first purpose-built Civil Construction Training Site, right here in Carrick. It’ll provide about 3,000 training qualifications a year, helping us build the hi-vis army we need to deliver the $27bn in game changing infrastructure Tasmania has in the pipeline currently. It’s a big part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future 🤝
