In such cases, donors or organizations may focus on temporary relief without addressing root causes, leading to a cycle of dependency rather than sustainable development. Financial empathy, if misdirected, can also manifest as performative acts, where individuals or corporations donate primarily for social image or tax benefits, rather than genuinely understanding and solving the problems of the marginalized.
