Ok so maybe it's not THAT simple, but while a hot topic around the world is the 4-day work week, there is something that you can do... Get more done when you can, knock out easy tasks first and shorten that task list, create more efficiencies and better processes, and do the things necessary to do your job (and the jobs of your employees) BETTER. Find a company that cares less about a clock and more about results. Get your work done. Communicate effectively and regularly. And if you're a little light on a Friday? Voila. Four-day work week. #work #workculture #fourdayworkweek #fourdayweek #workweek #workbetter #worksmarternotharder #worksmarter

Is it just me, or has half the media industry unofficially adopted a four-day work week? 🤔 For the past few years, Fridays feel like a ghost town. Offices are quiet, and responses to calls or emails seem few and far between. On the plus side, it’s great if you’re tackling a project solo and can work distraction-free! 🙌 But collaboration? That might have to wait until Monday ⏳. This trend has become so consistent that I wonder if some companies might actually benefit from officially adopting a four-day work week, Thoughts? 💭 To be fair, today is a public holiday in parts of Germany, (and we're jealous for being left out in Berlin 😂 ) but honestly, this has become the norm most Fridays. Anyone else noticing this shift?

Shout out to Otta.com and Caroline Fischer for recognising that humans are NOT machines by proactively designing for - and prioritising downtime 👏 Too many people and businesses I work with operate in brain-frying mode, caught in a relentless cycle, hustling - taking little or no time for rest and renewal. When we actively rest and renew, we rebuild and sustain the #resilience we need to steer clear of burnout and thrive at work (and, importantly LIFE :)) Deep work requires deep rest 🧠 By helping people prioritise downtime, we're not just helping them avoid burnout - we're boosting their creativity, productivity and overall well-being. #humansustainability #regenerativeleadership #innovation
This time last year, Otta.com started trialling a 9-day fortnight - every other Friday off, with no compressed hours or reduced pay 🗓️ I’m pleased to share that it’s gone well. The team feels more productive at, and outside of, work. And there haven’t been negative commercial outcomes. In fact, it went so well that we took the plunge and started a 4-day work week trial last month, in line with our colleagues at Welcome to the Jungle 🥳 We’ll continue to survey the team monthly for feedback, but early signs are positive. Teams are adapting to make the most of our collaborative time in the office and focus time at home. We’re scrutinising which meetings are required. And we’re leaning on async communication more than ever. Here’s what a 4-day work week looks like at Otta so far. What’s holding your company back from trialling a 4-day week? ✨ The 4-Day Work Week ✨ AKA my favourite thing ever 🎉 I was lucky enough to trial it for a few months last year. HOW DID IT WORK? 👉 2/3 days to choose from. 👉 Still required to check your emails. 👉 Only given to those hitting target. PROS? 👉 My output was higher on a 4-day week. 👉 Much better work-life balance. 👉 Decreased stress levels. CONS? 👉 Everyone wanted a Friday off. 👉 Those who hadn't hit target were annoyed. 👉 Some wouldn't check their emails whilst off. Ultimately, the pros outweigh the cons. It creates a hardworking and less stressful culture. What are your thoughts? 🤔 Have you worked a 4-day week? 🤔 #4DayWorkWeek #4DayWeek #WorkLifeBalance #WorkLife #LondonWork #LondonJobs #WorkingWeek #London

Have you ever dreamed of having a longer weekend? Well, it might not be just a dream anymore! Different countries are experimenting with a 4-day work week, and Germany just joined the list. The goal is to maintain or even increase productivity while providing more time to enjoy nature and pursue other interests having become obsolete at the workplace. Imagine having a 4-day work week, followed by 3, 2, and eventually 1 day off. Sounds amazing, doesn't it? Let's hope more countries follow soon! #4dayworkweek #productivity #worklifebalance

How would a four-day work week apply in logistics? Would customers agree to no shipping on Friday? Would customers agree to no deliveries on Friday, and would customers agree to NOT release payments on Fridays? A four-day work week is filled with holes and there isn't enough time as there is. Is there any department or activity that can thrive on a four-day work week? There is an undercurrent pushing for a four-day work week. Well Rebel has answer for this conundrum. Rebel works 24-7-365 so our four-day work week is actually 1092 weeks in a year. See, there is a way forward. At Rebel, time is a commodity that cannot be wasted. Increased efficiency, happier employees, and lower turnover rates. These were the results of a large-scale trial of the 4-day work week involving 61 companies in the UK. After one year, 89% of the participating companies continued with the four-day work week, and 51% made it a permanent change. The trial showed improvements in physical and mental health, work-life balance, and general life satisfaction among employees. In our 2024 State of Tech Hiring survey, 26% of respondents reported their companies offered a 4-day work week, while 11% were considering it. 7% of developers reported that this was in their top 3 priorities when considering a job offer. What are your thoughts on the 4-day work week? 👍 or 👎 #4DayWorkWeek #JobPerks #TalentAcquisition

I've been reading more and more about the 4-day work week over the past few years. The more I learn about the benefits and the successful roll out at companies who were intentional and careful in their planning and execution make me feel like I could be happier, more efficient, and more effective in my role in this situation. What are other people's experience or thoughts about the 4-day work week? Would you want to give it a try?
