Are "soft skills" the real key to lasting career success? ✅ In today’s fast-paced job market, technical skills are essential, but they’re only part of the equation. While mastering tools and systems is important, it’s soft skills—like communication, collaboration, and adaptability—that will sustain your career in the long run. In a world that's becoming more automated by the day, there’s one thing that technology can’t replace: our human touch. Yes, machines are great at handling data and taking care of routine tasks, but when it comes to the things that really matter—like understanding emotions, or leading others—it’s our human skills that make all the difference. "Self-motivation sets apart those who lead change from those who follow," says career coach Dr. Haley R. Harbaugh, SHRM-SCP. She explains that important skills like executive presence are built from qualities like strong communication and the ability to influence others. These skills are what employers look for, but they can be hard to define, which makes developing them even more valuable over time. In fact, research shows that 85% of long-term success comes from these so-called "soft skills." They form the foundation that prepares you for whatever challenges lie ahead. So, how can you ensure you’re developing the skills that will truly stand the test of time? ⌛️ Ready to take your career to the next level? Learn how durable skills can help you get there 🎯 👉 https://lnkd.in/exJKtyuW How do you prioritize durable skills? Let us know!

What's the key to “having it all” as a working parent? As a working parent, the constant struggle to balance career responsibilities and family life is a daily challenge. The pressure to meet deadlines at work while making sure you’re there for your kids—whether it’s helping with homework, attending school events, or simply spending quality time—can feel overwhelming. On top of that, there’s often a sense of guilt, like you’re not giving enough to either side. The worry that your career might suffer if you ask for more flexibility, or that you’re missing out on important moments with your family, is a common and deeply personal concern for many working parents “We need to get clear on 3-5 things that are important to us, define what success looks like in those areas, and not get distracted by all those other things coming at us,” says career coach Sara Madera. According to Madera, defining what flexibility means to you and finding a company that aligns with your needs is crucial. It’s important to be clear on your priorities—whether that’s blocking off time for family in the evenings or working asynchronously—and doing your research to find out if a potential employer truly supports flexibility. As more companies recognize the value of offering flexibility, whether through remote work, hybrid schedules, or flexible hours, it’s becoming clear that these options are essential for helping parents thrive. 🟡 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/e58E8jh9 💭 What’s your experience as a working parent?
