Conservation Careers Fair Zambia Attending the 2024 Conservation Careers Fair Zambia provided me with valuable insights into the evolving job market and how to strategically position myself for success. I had the privilege of hearing from remarkable speakers like Saziso Moyo and Remmy Kopeka, whose experiences offered fresh perspectives on the importance of building a career in conservation. The panel discussion, Job Seeking in the #Digital Era, moderated by Serena Mwale, featured industry leaders such as Mark Townsend, Wezi Muyembe MZIM, Tafadzwa Bete Sasa, and Lulu Haangala-Wood. They shared practical tips on how to effectively brand yourself for career growth: Mark Townsend highlighted the necessity of digital skills to tap into emerging opportunities. Lulu emphasized the importance of storytelling to shape your online presence. Wezi Muyembe MZIM stressed being authentic, as your next employer may already be watching. Tafadzwa encouraged becoming a problem-solver to unlock career opportunities. Inspired by these discussions, I’ve aligned myself with organizations where I am seeking internships to shape my career direction, focusing on building practical skills and meaningful networks. #ConservationCareers #CareerGrowth #DigitalSkills #Storytelling #Authenticity #VolunteerStrategically #JobSeeking #Sustainability #CareerDevelopment #YouthInConservation #Networking

In #Ontario, there is a discussion around #skilled #trades and work #experience on social media and various initiatives. Here are some key highlights: 🔔 ➡#Government Initiatives: The Ontario government is actively promoting skilled trades through various programs addressing labour shortages. For example, the "Skilled Trades Awareness and Readiness (STAR) program" encourages underrepresented groups, such as #youth, #women, and #newcomers, to explore careers in the skilled trades. This program supports career fairs, mentorships, and hands-on training opportunities - (https://shorturl.at/hi3hO) ➡#Brand Promotion: Skilled Trades Ontario / Métiers spécialisés Ontario launched a branding campaign in October 2022 with the tagline "Opportunity in every skill," focusing on the #diverse #career paths available in skilled trades. This initiative aims to inspire and inform both current and future trades professionals about the rewarding opportunities in this sector (https://shorturl.at/8t6gC). ➡#Career #Fairs and Events: The government is organizing career fairs across the province to showcase the skilled trades to young people. These events aim to raise awareness of the various trades and the significant #job security they can offer - September 2024 (https://shorturl.at/QGCeJ) ➡#Social #Media Discussions: Online platforms feature conversations about the #challenges and #opportunities within skilled trades, including labour shortages and the importance of vocational training. Many organizations are using social media to highlight the high demand for #tradespeople and to show misconceptions about these careers – May 2024 (https://shorturl.at/LrCIA) These trends reflect a concerted effort in #Ontario to raise the profile of skilled trades, enhance work experience opportunities, and ensure a sustainable workforce for the future. 🗝🌎 #trades #SkilledTrades #newcomerstocanada #newcomers #hamilton #gta #DiversityInTrades #CanadaOpportunity #diversityandinclusion #diversityequityinclusion #immigration #immigrants #skilledtrade, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada / Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada, Skilled Trades Ontario / Métiers spécialisés Ontario, Skills Ontario, Skills Council of Canada, Skilled For Work Skilled Trades Plus Career Professionals of Canada, Doug Ford, David Piccini, Melissa Young - Gray, Victoria McFarlane, Prashant E Teki, Mohammed Anwar, Elham Bakri, CCDP, Leen Alramlawi, Anshu Dhingra

What an amazing day at the WPC Conservation Careers Fair Zambia 2024 learned and Inspired yet again from the amazing speakers🔥 "Job hunting in the digital era." key take aways! ⚡ You will not be employable if you do not adopt digital tools. scale up on the digital tools and make use of every opportunity. ⚡ Adopt a growth mindset Technology will keep changing, do what you can to be a key player in the vast change. Mark Townsend ⚡ Use you digital space to share your story. it doesn't matter how many followers you got. utilize your digital space for the good of yourself as an individual and others around you. Lulu Haangala-Wood ⚡ Follow organizations that are in your field of interest. what they do. what they post and what opportunities are being posted. ⚡ You need to be authentic to your true self. be inspired, and inspire. ⚡ Discovering who you are, finding you uniqueness and capitalizing on your uniqueness as well as projecting yourself with the image of your true self in other words your authentic self are some of the key strategies to personal branding.
