Dear business leaders, As we approach LGBTQ+ Pride Month, it's important to remember that meaningful support is more than just posting rainbows and making press statements. We must take tangible actions to support our LGBTQ+ employees and create a safe, authentic work environment. Marching in a parade is fun, but there is hard work to he done. This means implementing policies that protect and support LGBTQ+ individuals, and actively working against politicians and policies that do not prioritize LGBTQ+ rights. Allyship is hard work, but it is necessary work. Let's make this Pride Month a time of true progress and change. It was great to lead the Route team in this discussion yesterday covering the importance of representation for all groups in advertising and the value that this thinking gives to business. Some really good debate about the importance of language and context in society, and also in activation when considering things like key word strategy through to linear TV ad placement. Really important topics that are the backbone of planning on a daily basis.

#Pridemonth is a monumental time of the year. It is a time to remember the remarkable equal rights journey the LGBTQ+ community has fought for decades. And it is a month where I personally take some time to reflect on how far we’ve come as a country. Pride Month also serves as a reminder of the importance of respect and inclusivity in all aspects of our lives. Talking about diversity is inherently emotional and can be complex. However, doing the work and research to understand basic facts about any community can make any interaction more inclusive and meaningful.
