880,000 pensioners who are eligible for Pension Credit are not currently in receipt of the benefit. To support housing associations to help their residents apply for Pension Credit this winter, the Department for Work and Pensions has produced a number of resources to ensure residents don’t miss out on benefits they’re eligible for. The resources and toolkit include: - Information on who is eligible for Pension Credit. - Advice on how best to reach core audiences. - Answers to commonly asked questions. I am getting my basic state pension which is above the threshold for Pension Credits. I have to have a medical condition it seems to be eligible. So it is disingenuous to say pensions can get it, when they cannot! A pension I worked for all my life is taxed because of fiscal drag. My very small private pension is used to pay towards my rent , so i get no benefit from it and it precludes me from any help. What is also amazing a Basic State Pension is 51% of the National Minimum Wage which people on can claim other benefits which I cannot. So I get 51% of the amount and pay out more being unable to claim benefits, yet someone who is young and able can claim extras when on twice my income!

Lets face FACTS: Someone on Basic State Pension is not entitled to Pension Credits! The only people on Basic State Pension Credits are those who have a disability and claim benefits. I am over the limit on my Basic State Pension as told to me by DWP! I also having got a modest £3k per annum private pension I pay that towards my rent! What is not muted is someone working with the Minimum National Wage is claiming benefits and can claim everything a pensioner cannot! Not forgetting they get twice as much income as I get! There is another even greater anomaly but that can wait for now. So STOP this propaganda about Pension Credits (which is a benefit) and Pensions on Basic State Pension (which is not a benefit as I have paid into this my whole working life and only trying to get it back whilst I live)!
