34 years ago today, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. As we reflect on the progress we have made since the passage of the ADA, it is equally important to acknowledge that there are still systemic barriers that prevent the full realization of the promises in this legislation. For instance, many employers still have biases against hiring people with disabilities. This shows that we need to do more to create a society that’s more accessible and universal to everyone, including those with disabilities. #ADA34 #ThanksToADA #DisabilityInclusion #Diversity #Accessibility #Equity #DEIA #Disability #Neurodiversity

July marks the anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990, a civil rights law that promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities in every aspect of life, including gaining access to the same employment opportunities and #benefits. People with disabilities now represent the largest and most diverse minority in the U.S. according to the CDC, with 1 in 4 adults today living with disabilities. Join us in recognizing Disability Pride Month, which celebrates people with disabilities, their identities and their contributions to society — and seeks to end the stigma associated with disability. Let's strive to ensure our nation's workplaces are inclusive and accessible to all. International Day of Persons with Disabilities – December 3rd We honor the individuals behind the labels, recognising that disability does not define a person—it’s just one part of who they are. This day is a reminder to see the person first: their talents, ambitions, and unique contributions to our communities. Let's continue to break down the barriers and challenge stereotypes, ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, is valued for their humanity, not their disability. Together, we can create a more inclusive world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. #IDPWD #PersonFirst #InclusionMatters #Diversity #HumanityBeforeDisability Let me know if you'd like to add anything specific!

Today marks the 34th Anniversary of the Americas with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). The ADA, signed into law on July 26, 1990, was a landmark piece of legislation that broke down barriers to inclusion, but people in the disability community still experience discrimination, social stigma, and marginalization. Lifeworks recognizes the important role the ADA continues to play in ensuring greater access and opportunities for people with disabilities – but we know there is still more work to be done. That is why Lifeworks is committed to partnering with people with disabilities so that we can continue to identify barriers, address challenges, and build inclusive communities and workplaces. #LifeworksMN #ADA34 #ADAAnniversary #DisabilityInclusion
