Its not just children that need safeguarding. Our initiative #dontdiejuly is set to save lives. We’re almost ready to kick off #DontDieJuly, our new initiative to raise awareness around the deadly facts of cardiac arrest and the life-changing power of learning CPR. Whether it’s in the home, on the street, in a shopping centre or at a local club, cardiac arrest can happen to anyone. It’s rarely predictable, and early bystander intervention is crucial to turn the odds of survival around. Death or disability from cardiac arrest can hit hard - socially, emotionally and economically – but knowing you and others in your circle have the skills and confidence to administer CPR is a major community asset.   Next month – and every month – we’re empowering individuals, strengthening communities and making a lasting difference by delivering fast, affordable and effective online CPR training to millions of people around the world. We have only 3 spots left in the upcoming ASIST Training. This is the training I taught while in the position of Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Iowa National Guard. It is a 2 day interactive training that helps you gain the confidence to help someone in crisis. You never know who you may come across that may be struggling whether it be a stranger, neighbor friend or loved one. We do not learn CPR in hopes that one day we use it but rather learn it in case it could mean saving someone’s life. ASIST falls in the same cats as CPR. Learning from when a child suffers a serious incident or death, due to abuse or neglect, is far from simple.
