Veterans supporting Veterans! In a recent interview with Infantry #marine #veteran Brandon Hagar (IG: hagar_thefitbear), we discussed the athletic expectations while serving especially from his lens of being in the Marines. Our conversation touched on the extremes that can arise while serving in the military, leading to unhealthy practices like yo-yo dieting, binge drinking, and emotional stress. Such practices can take a toll on one's body. Brandon's guidance in making healthy, long-lasting changes is admirable. His approach, which delves into the emotional and mental aspects of fitness, helps in making long-lasting, sustaining behavior changes. It's always inspiring to see Veterans taking care of their mind, body, and spirit. Let's continue to support each other in this journey.

We’re going to need a bigger boat. So, I spent some time in 1st Cavalry Division. If you weren’t aware, the 1st Cavalry Division patch is the largest patch in the Army. Back when I was a wee Staff Sergeant, I took one of my Soldiers to a promotion board. The Command Sergeant Major asked him to talk about the patch. The kid blanked and then said…. “Well, it’s the largest, and if someone makes one bigger, you can damn sure count on 1CD outdoing it.” After the laughter died down, he passed. The Navy is a lot like this. Or - it’s how it appears on the outside looking in. Lots of “bigger is better” - except of course with Littoral ships. (Too soon?) The Coast Guard, on the other hand, seems to be in the same position as the Marine Corps in that everything is some variation of a hand me down. If I have that wrong - then so be it. Feel free to correct me, as I know not what I’m talking about completely. Again - just my perspective. Of course, the missions are different. So the size of the boat matters. One is about saving lives. The other is about taking lives. Context matters. Either way - props to both branches. 🇺🇸 Stay caffeinated Aerial Resupply Coffee® #veterans #coffee #marketing #military #transitioningmilitary

Here is a very different view from the bridge in heavy seas. The first one shows plowing through the seas. The second one shows heavy rollers - but I also love the bridge talk. What do you think? Bring back any good memories? Infrastructure Masons Compass Datacenters US Navy #veteransupport #veterans #veteranshelpingveterans

This is such great insight: “Not being a Green Beret is harder than being a Green Beret.” Read on for the explanation ../
Not being a Green Beret is harder than being a Green Beret. Yes, I said that correctly. The biggest challenge I ever faced wasn’t donning the Green Beret…it was taking it off. Transition from the military is an unknown journey that tests even the greatest special operators in ways they never imagined as they’re forced to answer the question of what’s next. Green Beret Foundation has placed Veteran Service Officers in each active duty Special Forces Group to assist transitioning operators answer this question, navigate the disability benefits process and provide job placement services as they prepare for the next chapter in life.
