I am delighted to share our latest research, recently published in International Communications in Heat and Mass Transfer, which investigates the influence of shell geometry on the thermal performance of latent heat storage units. Our study shows that the horizontal obround shell improves heat transfer rates and speeds up the melting process compared to circular shells, as demonstrated through visualization experiments and numerical simulations. These insights are instrumental in advancing the design and efficiency of thermal energy storage systems. Pierrick Cordel, Alexandre Dély, Adrien Merlini, Francesco P. Andriulli introduce new integral formulations based on the convolution quadrature method for the time-domain modeling of perfectly electrically conducting scatterers that overcome some of the most critical issues of the standard schemes based on the electric field integral equation (EFIE). The standard time-domain EFIE-based approaches typically yield matrices that become increasingly ill-conditioned as the time-step or the mesh discretization density increase and suffer from the well-known DC instability. This work presents solutions to these issues that are based both on new Calderón strategies and quasi-Helmholtz projectors regularizations. I am excited to share our paper about applying computational fluid dynamics method to study the performance of a laminar gas inlet for aircraft-based gas-aerosol sampling, used in the Technological Innovation Into Iodine and GV Environmental Research (TI3GER) project. This paper provides our evaluation of different turbulent models and the observations of the correlations among inlet designs, flow features, and gas sampling efficiency. As the first part of our studies on this inlet, we verified the suitable turbulent model to predict the turbulent intensity inside the inlet and found the ideal conditions to reduce gas transmission loss. The next study will focus on comparisons between gas measurements and model predictions. This is my first publication as the first author, and I am very grateful for all the contributions from my co-authors Suresh Dhaniyala, Rainer Volkamer, Roy Mauldin, Margarita Reza and all the people who helped with our studies. Hello everyone, I am happy to share my new paper, which was recently accepted to be published in the International Journal of Electrical Power and Energy Systems. Title: A probabilistic load flow for unbalanced three-phase islanded microgrids using Unscented Transformation Using the Unscented Transformation, the main contribution is a Probabilistic Power Flow (PFF) for Unbalanced Islanded Microgrids.  a) Load and Wind Generation Uncertainties are considered. b) The droop effect in dispatchable generators is considered together with the steady-state frequency variation. c) The Unscented Transformation is used to solve the PPF: different from the Monte Carlo Simulation that employs a larger set of samples probabilistically calculated, the UT employs a reduced set of samples calculated deterministically.  d) Results for two microgrids show a significant reduction of computational time, maintaining the precision compared with the Monte Carlo Simulation.
