www.nationalrubbereng.com Rubber dock fenders and rubber fenders for lifts are crucial in protecting structures and equipment in marine and industrial settings. Rubber Dock Fenders: Impact Absorption: They absorb and dissipate the energy from vessels docking, preventing damage to both the dock and the ship. Durability: Made from robust rubber, these fenders withstand harsh environmental conditions, such as saltwater, UV rays, and chemicals, ensuring long-term performance. Infrastructure Protection: They protect docks, piers, and harbor walls from structural damage, reducing maintenance costs and extending the life of these critical assets. Rubber Fenders for Lifts: Shock Absorption: These fenders cushion impacts when lifting or lowering heavy loads, protecting both the lift equipment and the cargo. Safety Enhancement: By preventing direct contact between the lift and the load, they reduce the risk of damage and accidents, ensuring safer operations. Equipment Longevity: By minimizing wear and tear on the lift and its components, rubber fenders help extend the lifespan of lifting machinery, reducing the need for frequent repairs and replacements. Both rubber dock fenders and rubber fenders for lifts are vital for absorbing impacts, protecting infrastructure and equipment, and enhancing safety in their respective environments. #DockFenders #MarineSafety #ImpactProtection #HarborSafety #MaritimeIndustry #DockEquipment #VesselProtection #MarineFenders #PortSafety #DockSolutions

These diamond shaped metal objects are Hazmat Placard Holders. When transporting hazardous materials, Hazmat Placards are placed in these holders in order to communicate the contents of the trailer. It is a legal requirement to have the proper placards for the contents being transported, and hazmat documentation plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of everyone on the road. In the event of an accident such as a spill, rollover or explosion, Emergency Services need to be able to take the proper precautions and determine the appropriate measures and personal protective equipment required for cleaning up the spill. There are 9 hazard classes, which are categories that the hazardous materials are identified by. Each class has it’s own set of placards. They are placed on all sides of the trailer so that they are always visible, and if a placard is necessary for the trailer’s load, one placard is required for each side. #repairshop #truckmechanic #highlight

📌 The Marine and Port Authority of Singapore has instructed their Recognised Organisations to undertake a concentrated survey campaign related to the primary load-bearing terminations on life-saving appliances falls on Singapore registered vessels regardless of age. The concentrated survey will be carried out as part of the next scheduled safety equipment survey. Singapore MPA requirement: “Wire-rope grips for the falls of life-saving appliances, such as bulldog grips, are not acceptable for any primary load-bearing terminations. This includes falls for lifeboats, rescue boats and davit-launched life rafts, as well as hanging off pendants and recovery strops.” What should shipowners, ship managers and ship operators do now? Where potentially non-compliant arrangements are found, shipowners should contact classificaton society for further guidance and arrange for the replacement of wire-rope grips used on primary load-bearing terminations by swaged hard eye, approved resin or white metal sockets, spelter, wedge socket or other approved arrangements. Support wheels, known as bogies, are typically found under large equipment like stacker reclaimers and ship loaders. These bogies are often stored in outside laydown yards, making them susceptible to corrosion and UV damage. To safeguard these critical components, a dual layer of anti-corrosion film and UV film has been applied. This protective measure is essential in ensuring the longevity and operational efficiency of the bogies. By implementing this protection, the bogies can maintain their integrity over the years, guaranteeing they are ready for installation and function as intended when required.

#Ballasting refers to the intake of water into a ship's ballast tanks to maintain stability and balance especially if the ship is carrying a heavy load in one hold and a lighter load in another, or empty and facing rough seas. However, when the ship is completely filled with cargo, the stability of the ship is maintained by the weight of the cargo itself and thus there is no requirement of ballast water. The process of taking out ballast water from the ballast tanks to make them empty is known as de-ballasting. Both ballasting and de-ballasting are vital for ensuring safe navigation, optimal vessel performance, and proper weight distribution. Shipping companies must ensure precise ballasting and de-ballasting with strict monitoring systems, prioritizing both safety and environmental compliance. #Deballasting #MaritimeOperations #ShippingSafety

#TipsTuesday: Articulated Truck Safety ❗ Keep windows clean and clear of dust, dirt and other debris that limit visibility. ❗ Do not exceed rated loads. Distribute loads evenly in the truck body and avoid excessive heavy loading in the front section. ❗ Use caution when ejecting/dumping material as material stuck in the bed and soft ground conditions can cause the truck body to overturn. #MantracMoves #healthandsafety
