🚨 QA MANAGERS 🚨 I'm curious about your perspective on hiring contractors for QA roles. In my experience, contractors often bring specialized skills and flexibility to teams, especially during uncertain times. However, I've noticed some hesitation from managers in embracing contract QA professionals. Could you share your thoughts on why some QA teams might prefer not to add contractors?

Has anyone else noticed that a lot of entire QA teams have been made redundant/ let go over the last year or so? Me and Jules Ludlow noticed this a while back and don't understand it. Does anyone know why this might be? 🤔 It seems strange - QA is a very important, if not the most important, part of the development lifecycle, and especially in certain industries where poor QA and QC could cost more than just money, but lives 😱 #recruitment #hiring #redundancies #tech #QA #QC #rebelrecruiters

Plenty of QA hiring managers still get so caught up on years of experience as the main metric for a testers ability to do a job. In plenty of cases it's just a yes/no scenario - if you don't have X years of experience you're not right for this role, without considering what else they can bring to the party. It's worth using it as a guide, but the last thing you want to do is look past someone who can do the job, just because they're "not experienced enough" on paper. Other things to consider; - problem solving and analytical abilities - project and industry experience - soft skills & team fit

Hey QA Managers! This post is for you! As a Quality Assurance Manager, your role is pivotal in ensuring that products not only meet but exceed quality expectations. In an era where precision, reliability, and consistency are paramount, IPC standards provide a comprehensive framework to achieve these goals. Why IPC Standards Matter for QA Managers IPC standards, such as IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies), IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies), and IPC-J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies), are recognized globally for their role in enhancing the quality of electronic assemblies. By adopting these standards, QA Managers can ensure uniformity across processes, reduce variability, and enhance product reliability. Impact on Quality Metrics Adopting IPC standards can have a significant impact on various quality metrics: Reduced Defect Rates: IPC standards set clear guidelines on acceptable defects, helping to minimize errors during production. Lower Rework Costs: Consistency in production reduces the need for costly reworks and repairs. Improved First-Pass Yield: With standardized procedures, the likelihood of passing quality inspections on the first try increases. Take the Next Step in Quality Assurance Are you ready to take your QA processes to the next level? At CTTi, we offer comprehensive IPC training and certifications to help you and your team achieve excellence in quality.
